I get that it doesn't matter at this point...but I've been wondering if the NLCS might have played out differently, had the Brewers gotten a clutch hit in the 8th inning of game 3 in the NLDS in Chicago, and swept that series.

As OWBC said, the Royals / Rangers is farther out than the Padres / Mariners (Peoria Sports Complex). At least Peoria has a ton of restaurants within walking distance of the stadium. That's not the case for the other two I just mentioned.
I am an acquaintance of a guy who is a low level coach in MLB. These guys move around a lot, and will jump at any chance to sign a contract with any team. Esp this time of year and esp during times of uncertainty. They don't get paid much and they have families. If they're offered a contract, they typically jump to sign it.
