  1. Hitting foul balls
  2. My first thought was that you were asking for a city between Green Bay and Oshkosh
  3. Fangraphs made what I think is a great point that Gallardo's numbers have been regressing even though he's had Lucroy behind the plate. Lucroy's framing has generated many extra strikes for Gallardo that he won't have in Texas. I wouldn't be shocked if Nelson or even Jungmann's numbers improve with a full year of pitching to Lucroy and are comparable to or even better than Gallardo's were.
  4. Mark Reynolds career vs LHP: .238/.359/.475 Juan Francisco career vs RHP: .252/.312/.464 Seems like an okay platoon on the cheap. I would imagine the Brewers will start the season with this platoon and Morris in AAA. If Morris is successful, they can call him up midseason.
  5. I remember a time when folks on this forum wanted us to trade Fielder straight up for Duke.
  6. We had Will Middlebrooks at 3B several years ago but his name was Bill Hall
  7. I would support any opportunity for Yuni to set the record for worst WAR in a season. I think this would quickly help his cause.
  8. Pure speculation but I wouldn't be surprised if he didnt' make it past the Cubs.
  9. ^^ I meant to post that in the Sellers at the Trade Deadline thread.
  10. We can still potentially move Axford until 8/31 as I think he's likely to clear waivers (or if he doesn't, let him go for the salary relief), but I'm disappointed that we couldn't put together another trade where we'd deal a reliever or Aoki. IMO, this was the optimal time to move Aoki as he's still cheap and under control through all of next season.
  11. I guess I'm surprised that you think that Roache, Arcia, and Coulter are more likely to be contributors at the major league level. Delmonico has had much more success with the bat at the A-ball level. Coulter seems to have the same questions about his defensive position and Roache is certainly not known for his defensive skill. Here's how I'd rank our hitting prospects: 1) Taylor - similar level of success as Delmonico at a younger age with a more clear position 2) Delmonico - success with the bat as a 20 yr old in A/A+ ball, no clear position but has the tools to be a 3B 3) Haniger - Good defensive skill with decent success in A/A+ ball but older than Delmonico 4) Arcia - If he can develop into an average hitter, he jumps 5) Coulter - still needs to prove himself as a hitter in A ball and find a position. 6) Roache - moderately successful in A ball with the bat but defense is limited
  12. I disagree that he'd be a 3-4 round guy. He signed for >$1.5M which means that at least the Orioles valued him as a late-1st/supplemental guy. BA says that he was viewed as a possible first rounder but part of the reason he fell to the 6th was due to his committment to Georgia. He is currently under .250 for his batting average for his career, however his BABIP is a relatively low .273 at the moment. Given his foot speed and tendency to hit fly balls, I wouldn't expect him to carry a "high" BABIP but there's no reason he couldn't manage a more normal .290-.300 BABIP which would leave him as a ~.265-.275 hitter. I don't think that most on this board are expecting Delmonico to be another Prince Fielder but he has a pretty good shot to be an average-to-above average 1B/3B in a couple years. And given that we picked up K-Rod off the scrap heap and he had no long-term value to the team, getting even an "okay" prospect should be considered a steal.
