  1. Another case of Murphy trying to be too smart by half. Unless Quintana told Murphy he’s unavailable, this is just absurd to have a two-pitch RHP starting this game. The “Oh then you have three LHP’s to use later in the game” 4D chess is what got them into this mess in the first place. Start Chad Patrick if you’re not going with Quintana. This has crooked inning written all over it and it’s 100% on the manager.
  2. Here’s the lineup I would put out there on Saturday. Screw the L/R matchup crap, it’s do or die so get your best 9 in the order: 1. Chourio, RF 2. Frelick, CF 3. Yelich, DH 4. Contreras, C 5. Vaughn, 1B 6. Bauers, LF 7. Turang, 2B 8. Durbin, 3B 9. Mona, Ss SP: Patrick
  3. Yelich with two walks tonight. Better have him hit leadoff again in Game 5.
  4. Turang - who’s been struggling for several weeks - batting cleanup was the most bizarre move in a series chock full of them.
  5. Number of post-game questions Murphy will get about this absurd lineup? Zero.
  6. He’s paid to drive guys in and not draw leadoff walks for God’s sakes.
  7. No because lefty/righty matchup has 51.3% chance of not succeeding in the 5th inning if the Cubs bring in a RHP or something.
  8. Anyone know what the Brewers record is with Yelich leading off?
  9. Just spitballing here, but maybe Murphy can have *both* Bauers and Vaughn in the lineup tomorrow? Put Yelich in LF, Vaughn at 1st and DH Bauers. And enough of this Yelich leading off and Turang batting third crap.
  10. If you feel good about Grant Anderson coming in the game in the 5th inning in a two-run game, you’re lying to yourself.
  11. No, Brice Turang and Sal Frelick - the two hitters who lead the team in BA - did not need the day off two days after they had one.
  12. Do the coaches not give take signs anymore? Obviously he’s proven he doesn’t know how to take that pitch on his own.
