  1. Personally, I would have rather seen Joe Dillon called up than Escobar. The article states why he wasn't called up, but we may be getting too inexperienced with Escobar at this point. Dillon would be a good bat off the bench from this point forward.
  2. After reading all of these posts stating that team chemistry is overrated, I ask this question - at your job, does your work and your colleagues' work improve when morale is high? I'd be willing to say most people would say yes. Team chemistry is not as important as pure talent on the field, but it is an important tangible nonetheless.
  3. Martyn Chudley (head of company who made Project Gotham Racing)?
  4. I have been a music teacher (band director) for four years now, and I went through the same exact things. My first two jobs were both 60% where the districts hired me in late August - the first job was where I student taught and the second was the neighboring school district after there were budget cuts at my first district. After TONS of interviews and hundreds of applications sent to everyplace imaginable in the midwest, I got a full time job at a district that I love. It takes time - there are not many teaching jobs open lately. Many jobs are being eliminated after retirements happen just to save money and jobs are redistributed (this is especially true in areas like music, art, phy ed, etc.), but a couple of other posters hit it right on the head - districts want hall-of-fame-type teachers. Don't let that discourage you, though - if you are a good teacher, you will get your dream job. Just don't expect it right away - take a part time job to gain experience, apply a little bit outside of your comfort zone (I live in the Milwaukee area and applied to jobs in MN and IL, even though I wasn't crazy about anything outside of Milwaukee, Fox Cities, or Madison), talk to your college professors of openings, check wisconsin.gov and WECAN daily for openings, sub for a while to gain experience in a district - all of these things work in finding a great teaching job. I am the first to admit that teaching jobs nowadays are scarce - but if you are a good teacher, a job will come. All the best to you!
  5. I love how Cameron just stops in his tracks and looks at the ball after he misplays it
  6. Somehow, if Ned could just see the future, say, a batter or two into the future - it always seems that he is just a little late in bullpen moves
  7. ESPN is now confirming as well. Here it comes - the national media starting their love-fest for the Scrubs... (the Brewers were lucky to get almost 3 days in the spotlight)
  8. Overall, a great day for the Brewers that will go down for the ages - Braun voted into the All-Star game, and now CC. Hopefully, this leads to October baseball! GO CREW!
  9. Sorry to make a reference to another sport on the MLB board, but this is what I keep thinking watching the Brewers lately. The 1995 Packers team (in my opinion) had lots of talent - they won some huge games that year. But, in the end, their youth sometimes got in the way of winning more - they had to learn how to win. (The playoff game against the Cowboys perhaps showed this completely) I see so many parallels between that Packer team and this Brewer team. There is no doubt the 07 Brewers are talented, yet they often show their age in letting winnable games get away. The Crew still has to learn how to truly win before we can truly contend for a World Series. I still think we will make the playoffs this year, but I think the Brewers big fortune will come in 2008 (just like what happened to the Packers in 1996) Thoughts? (Mods - feel free to move if necessary...)
  10. I've had problems at times with it too, and have noticed that the site doesn't like Firefox as much as it likes Internet Explorer. Try using IE and you may have a little more success... ~Mike
  11. This is very simple send Mench Zack Jack and another prospect any prospect except Laporta and Rottino for Dye. I can see LaPorta, but Rottino seems to be a bit of a stretch as an untouchable player. Yeah, Vinny is the local guy, but he is blocked at just about every position he plays (except maybe catcher, but that is not his strongest position anyway). Yes, he deserves a chance, but the Brewers have no chance to get him. ~Mike
  12. Just throwing this out there, does anyone really believe Estrada beats that doubleplay out if he flat out runs right off the bat? In all honesty I don't think he beats it out anyways. My fiancee and I fought about this when it happened...I said he would have been safe if he had ran and she disagreed. Either way, it truly looked like Estrada was dogging it. This loss reminds me of the Verlander game earlier this year or the beginning of Turnbow's real problems last year (I remember it truly began after the All-Star break last year in Arizona). We can come out of this one like we did after the no hitter (strong) or we can come out of it like we did after Turnbow blowing up repeatedly (floundering)... This team is young; hopefully, it can find a way to use tonight for momentum and not pain...
  13. Am I the only one who is kind of scared of Eveland's pitching delivery? It seems like when the ball is at the lowest point, he is holding the ball backhanded. Plus, wouldn't the ball be very visible to the batter in Eveland's delivery? Or am I just crazy?
  14. Chalk this loss up to Blowtalico. It is time to trade him for anything to any taker....I'll take a handful of spit at this point...
  15. The future is here! Weeks to Hardy double play! One more out away!
  16. Don't scare me Turnbow, Pitch with control this inning, The game will be ours.
  17. We enter the 9th, Time for insurance---Daron Says, "Let's get some runs!!"
  18. A double play would be nice at this moment-let's get it done Brew Crew!
  19. Chris Cappy is done, You pitched well tonight Cappy, Wise-Hold the Marlins
  20. A plea to the Crew- Do not mess this game up, like The loss on Sunday
