I feel silly for saying this umpire was doing a good job after the second inning. There was plenty of time left for him to show he sucks just like all the rest.

Q seems to be laboring a bit. I don’t know if I feel great about sending him back out for the 6th against the meat of the Reds’ order, but with the long work by the pen the last couple days and the long week coming up, you have to.

This umpire is doing a good job so far. There’s plenty of game left to mess that up, of course. I just figured I’d say it while it’s true because it’s usually out the window by the 2nd inning.

I’m sure it’s some of both. And certainly, to be fair, that big of a gap doesn’t happen without some luck and circumstance.
