  1. I totally remember when that guy was like kind of famous for a few months in the 90s. I don’t really remember what he had to do with OJ though.
  2. This is why I don’t buy the “it was still a good trade because we needed someone to eat up those innings” argument. May has “eaten up” less than 32 innings for us. We have relievers in our pen who aren’t that far behind that count since the end of July.
  3. Freddy never sucked. He was just in a sucky organization.
  4. Your expectations must have been much higher than mine. I expected both him and Pratt to be defense first guys whose bats took a couple years to come around. Like Turang. A .659 OPS was well within my expectations offensively,
  5. Can’t argue with that logic especially with Megill being a little shakier lately and Ashby got the guy he was in there for.
  6. Took his sweet time getting that ball to 1st but nice job getting Henderson.
  7. I have absolutely no faith in Ashby in key situations. Hope to be completely mistaken.
  8. Maybe, but I expect Lara to be starting in right most days or at least half. I mean the entire offense has struggled today and did so in the 8th. They have 3 hits and 11 strikeouts.
  9. No, he’s most likely not. Not if Frelick is the alternative.
  10. Pair of really rough ABs by the rookies.
  11. Which says a lot that he rode him to that today. It was “I trust you.” Or, “the pen needs the rest, so figure it out and get through it.” Probably both.
  12. Apples to oranges, offensive performance in totality of 9 guys is one thing, I’m talking about May individually. He has a 5.40 ERA and 4.71 FIP since being acquired. That is bad, any way you look at it. Could he pitch well in the playoffs? Sure, but of course you feel a lot less confident about it happening because he’s pitched poorly versus if he had pitched well in the second half.
  13. Harrison quite possibly isn't even going to make the playoff roster. Sorry, your premise is that recent performances aren’t at all correlated with playoff performance, and I just don’t agree with that at all. If that was the case, there’d be no reason for concern on Harrison.
  14. I’m trying to be logical about this. I am not saying that we cannot win next month just because May sucked today. We can still win. But having a reliable number 3 starter in our rotation versus just basically having to have a couple bullpen days absolutely could have a bearing on what happens next month. How is this even debatable ?
  15. I’m not angry, but to be clear, I said from page one of the GT tonight that the W/L tonight was secondary in importance to however May looked.
  16. We won the May trade 1000%, apparently
  17. Great to get the win, but I think we’ve found out in the last 24+ hours that we can trust neither Harrison nor May in the playoffs and that is rough news.
  18. Good heavens, no, no they are not. When they are performing at poorer levels than the players who would have been performing in their place had they done nothing at all, you cannot say they won the trade, in fact they could have done absolutely nothing and be in a better spot. I mean, come on, man, by this logic you may as well trade every minor leaguer you have for someone you know will give you major league innings now because apparently that is the only factor to winning a trade. May gave them 7 outs tonight. We got more out of Garrett Stallings yesterday. We cannot possibly be serious here.
