  1. A Discontinuous Line by The Vandermark 5: indie jazz that is very out of left field for me, but it's good to expand your sonic horizons ... the first time I stumbled upon Vandermark - on a different album - it sounded like John Coltrane fronting Fugazi ... give it a shot if you're feeling adveterous and/or complacent. Reviving the thread was a good step.
  2. Yesterday the Denver Post wrote that Taveras might be going elsewhere: Nothing in the article mentions the Brewers or Cubs. The Rocky Mountain News reported that the Rockies might go after Rocco Baldelli, as has been reported throughout the offseason. Would the Devil Rays even want to move Baldelli and would Taveras be part of that? Purple Row, by the way, gives Brewerfan some nice props for its draft discussion.
  3. Is this an "in before the lock" scenario"? Go Brewers, I love 'em.
  4. My prediction: The Mets will unveil a surgically altered Steve Trachsel with Pedro Martinez's arm and El Duque's thighs. This "Trachsel-stein" will strike out an amazing 26 batters in a row, until his main weakness, the mind of Steve Trachsel surrenders a 9th inning homer to So Taguchi. Suppan and the Cards bullpen will complete the shutout and win 1-0. It is highly possible this will happen.
  5. I was fascinated by, what did Dwight do in the womb? "Resorb" his twin? Knowing that Dwight is not only an expert on survival skills, but obscure science in general, who am I, a mere office drone to question the veracity of his claim?
  6. Hat's off to Kenny Rogers. With all his off-field headlines I have to admit I don't like the guy, but he pitched the game of his life to night. Playoff baseball in the upper midwest, looks like fun...
  7. At least I got to see Prince go yard for the first time. From the stands there was no doubt about it.
  8. Heading to Coors Field right now for my one in-person Brewers game of the year. Can't hardly wait.
  9. We hold Ranganathan's laws of Library Science to be self-evident: 1. Books are for use. 2. Every reader has his or her book. 3. Every book has its reader. 4. Save the time of the reader. 5. The library is a growing organism.
  10. No more beer...sniff sniff...all gone...will think of you fondly...
  11. blah blahhbl ah blah blah fat tire bl;ha ha blah
  12. Just saw some longer clips of the collision/punch/aftermath on ESPN, and I can't see that Pierzynski's hit was that out of line, it wasn't like Pete Rose and Ray Fosse in the 1970 All Star game. Dusty (from Yahoo) seems to agree: Also I don't get the hatred for Pierzynski. I doubt he's a spokesman for the Human Fund, but it all seems a bit overblown. He plays with fire, I like that in a catcher, he's the field general whether on offense or defense. I got a kick of the way he stomped back to the dugout like a wrestler. Anyway, the Cubs are pathetic.
  13. Thanks Viva! Don't think that thought didn't cross my mind...boy or girl, they'll have Milwaukee blood in them!
  14. I'ma be a daddy - for the first time! I love my wife and my life (sorry thgat rhymes) - just wanted to tel the world...
  15. Why is this thread so hard to find? 1) How great is Ricky Henderson? 2) As a Red Soxc fan, how great is it to not listne to Pedro's stupid inmjury p[roblenms even in the off season? 3) What's the greatest Cheap trick song? (The one that's on!) THE DREAM POLICE- THEY LIVE INSIDEA MY HEAD!
