  1. http://www.jsonline.com/multimedia/photos/40347742.html These guys are nuts! Aren't they better off just working or just buying them from a broker? With the money they could have made by working during the time they are waiting, they could have bought a 9 pack with an Opening Day ticket. I'm sure it may be neat to bond with other Brewer fans, but I can think of many different ways to do so.
  2. tristarscoop, I hope you got your free train passes already because the Brewers already gave them all away.
  3. Actually, Mickey Rourke losing was a HUGE upset. He was a 2/5 favorite in one of my gambling accounts. No, I didn't bet on him though. To lay $100 to win $40 is ridiculous. I loved his performance in the movie and the training that he went through and I really wanted him to win.
  4. I was upset that The Wrestler wasn't up for Best Picture and Darren Aronofsky wasn't up for Best Director. It's hard to imagine the five nominated movies were better than The Wrestler, especially after reading all of the reviews I read about The Wrestler as well. But then again, I didn't see any of the other nominated films. In fact, The Wrestler was the first time I have seen a movie in a theather since Borat.
  5. A little over a year ago, I bought a 52" Sharp Aquos (the official TV of Major League baseball, although that's not why I bought it) from buydig.com. It was almost a grand cheaper than the exact same models at Best Buy, American, and Circuit City. Better yet shipping was free and there was no sales tax! The delivery was perfect and took less than a week. I have had absolutely no problems with the TV as well. Buydig.com has excellent customer service reviews from people at amazon.com and combined with the cheap prices, free shipping, and no sales tax, it made it a no brainer to buy from them. I couldn't be happier that I bought from them. Oh yeah, another reason I picked the TV was because of the 120 HZ for viewing sports. A buddy did a lot of research on it and said it was the way to go. Having the TV for a little over a year and comparing it to some 60 HZ TV's, I can definitely notice a difference. With the MLB Network coming on strong, I would definitely get the 120 HZ if you can.
  6. I turned it on just in time to hopefully see Mickey Rourke win. As a double whammy, not only did I turn in just in time to see Sean Penn beat him, but I had to go through another one of his eliteist speeches. Almost broke my 52 inch HD TV.
  7. Doesn't DARE = Drugs Are Really Excellent?
  8. Remember they sold a 1,000,000 tickets before even GROUP tickets went on sale. There's no chance the Brewers will draw less than 2,500,000. If 2,000,000 tickets was the over under mark, I would lay ten to one odds and cash advance all my credit cards plus bet everything I own on the over. 2,000,000 tickets will be far too easy for them to do this year.
  9. We all know last year that the Brewers set a club record in attendance with a total of 3,068,458 people (an average of 37,882 people per game). Some friends and I were having a discussion last night if the Brewers would beat that record this season. I was the only person in the group that thinks the team won't break the record, albeit, I think it will be close. I realize that the Brewers will have a record season ticket base this year by far. I also realize that the nine home games against the Cubs and the three games against the White Sox will help out a lot as well. I don't think the current state of the economy will make much of a difference, because the Brewers continue to offer so many cheap, and even free, ways to get into the stadium. However, I feel the subtraction of CC Mania combined with a decent chance that we may not be in a playoff race come September, will be the ultimate difference why a new record won't be set this season. I realize that the Doug Melvin bobblehead day could push them over the edge, but I'm afraid it won't be enough. I hope the Brewers can set a new attendance mark in 2009, but I leaning towards they won't. Final prediction attendance in 2009: 2,969,267.
  10. A Braun-Hart-Dunn outfield was exactly what I thought this team needed! Even though it was painfully obvious to everyone all along that the Brewers were never interested in Dunn, I truly feel that this was a huge blown opportunity here. We passed up an opportunity to acquire a left-handed, powerful bat with great on base percentage and we could have probably solidified our outfield for many years to come, all for a below market, reasonable price. I don't know why Melvin didn't make a play for Dunn, especially when he admits many times that we are short on left handed bats. I think it's a shame.
  11. Crewcrazy, Come to think of it CCII wasn't there when CC met Scott Bartell so this may have been the first time he met someone who could possibly beat up his dad. CC's kid is exactly like a Muppet Baby version of CC! No harm meant by that comment, their faces look the same.
  12. Would his tag line be, "You can't CC me!!!!"?

  14. Even though I love his show and agree with him 95% of the time, the old Bill O'Rielly meltdown is a classic as well! It all seemed much about nothing.
  15. So what did everyone think about the Springsteen halftime show? I'm not a huge Springsteen fan, but I thought it was one of the best Halftime shows I can remember. It was a little hokey at times, but that is part of a live Springsteen performance. In fact, I liked the show so much that I switched my avatar.
  16. I have been consistently using Netflix and I haven't had any problems at all with the turnaround time. If I really want a new release ASAP, then I go to Redbox and get it for a dollar.
  17. Cricks28 (and several others), You forgot the, by far, top 2 reasons why football always has the highest ratings in all of sports: 1. Gambling 2. Fantasy football. It's really that simple. Even professional wrestling consistently draws higher ratings than baseball (except for the World Series).
  18. It's not music, but 80 percent of the time I'm in my car, I am listening to Howard Stern.
  19. Tracy, My avatar indeed is none other than the former MAW Heavyweight Champion, former BCW Heavyweight Champion, and one half of the former NWA World Tag Team Champions, SkullKrusher Rasche (no "k") Brown, who is a big fan of the show. By the way, Schlitz 001 is correct, Marisa Tomei does not disappoint, especially with her piercings.
  20. Here was your original response to me: "Even if what you say is true (and it is just a guess on your part), Prince Fielder is a baby because he does what is required of him?" Nice try on the sematics. No one is ever a baby for doing what is required of them at their work. Again, obviously that makes no sense. My point was, and I thought it was stated rather clearly, that when you make a commitment to do something above and beyond the call of duty at your work and in the spirit of goodwill and then you renege because of your contract, that makes you a baby in my opinion. Especially in Prince's situation, when he is really doing nothing but hurting his fans. Please continue to do all of the algebraic logic you want to twist the logic or change the meaning of my intentions if you wish, hipster. Again, my apologies to Prince for referring to him as a baby for not attending the events of this coming weekend.
  21. I think it's great for the fans that Prince will be there! I commend him for taking the time to be there during the off season. I apoligize for the negative statement I made against Prince Fielder on this thread. I do, however, stand by my statement that I made regarding Prince being a baby for backing out of the season ticket holder event because he was unhappy about his contract. But, kudos to Prince for coming in this Saturday and it raises my opinion on him a decent amount. However, according to TH's blog, it appears that Prince has changed his tune in participating in these events only because his contract talks are progressing positively. Whether that is coincidence or not can be debated and only Prince knows the real answer to that. The bottom line though is that Prince is coming to the events this weekend and that is a very positive thing. To "And That": My point was that Prince was being a baby because he wouldn't do beyond of what was required of him (referring to the backing out of the season ticket event). He made a commitment to being there, and it was advertised to the season ticket holders, but then he renegged because he was unhappy about his contract. I never called him a baby for doing what was required of him. That obviously makes no sense and you need to read closer what it is I am posting before you criticize it. I have been reading and posting on this board for several years. I have seen many people state many reckless things and incorrect things, yet I can count on my hand the number of times people have apoligized for anything. I also think it is funny that people on this board are ready to jump down my throat when I am, or other people are, wrong on something, yet I only believe one person commended us when we broke the huge, breaking story on Yo last year. In fact, I remember many people on this board being mean spirited when we posted the scoop until it was proven to be true, of course.
  22. Anyone also remember when Prince backed out last minute for the season ticket meet and greet and autograph appearance because he was unhappy about his contract? Luckily for the Brewers, Ryan Braun was nice enough to fill in for him (and this was before Braun signed his deal). I notice parallels here. I believe Prince won't do anything above and beyond the requirements the organization lays out for him. Hence, the statement I gave earlier in this thread.
  23. Prince Fielder is the biggest baby in the world!
  24. Ever since John Barnes lost his vote in the Brewer Walk Of Fame, the whole thing has been a joke!
