  1. what does everyone think of todd frazier? what type of mlb player does everyone think he could eventually become? he looks like a really exciting power+speed type of guy although hes probably going to K 100+ times a year. he looks like a 275/360/500 25hr 20sb type of player from reading scouting reports and watching video of him.
  2. thanks for the report on zimmerman, he really intrigues me. He is projected more of a 3rd round guy right now?
  3. i heard his defense is simply...atrocious lol.
  4. One draft eligible college pitcher that has caught my eye this year but hasnt had alot of draft publicity is Witchita St right-hander, Travis Banwart. Anyone know why he hasnt gotten that much pub? He is 6'4 200lbs and was selected to the cap cod all star team last summer. so far his numbers this year... 1.71ERA 68.1IP 53H 1HR 17BB 72K he has been excellent this year and in my mind, he is evoking matt garza comps. anyone have anything to say on him?
  5. i was always working under the assumption lincecum wasnt going to last beyond the 6th pick. dont get me wrong, i love kershaw but lincecum is 2007 ready to make a significant impact and who knows how long its going to take kershaw to climb the minor league ladder.
  6. probably passing on Tim Lincecum for the Dodgers.
  7. todd morgan at scout.com has a new 1st round mock up. story.scout.com/a.z?s=283&p=2&c=635519 this was intriging... 20. Los Angeles Dodgers - Jack McGeary, LHP, L-L, 6?3, 200, Roxbury Latin HS, MA The Dodgers are all over McGeary and this may be the first pre-draft deal completed this year. does anyone know anything about this?
  8. I like moustakas as a corner player although he does have the altheticism to handle C. The only reason why i might shy away from putting him at C is that i dont want to stall his bat. I would probably start him off at 3b and see what happens from there depending on how the other 3b in the system do.
  9. a blurb in the LAtimes... â?¢ Mike Moustakas, Chatsworth, Sr.: There's no hotter hitter in the Southland than the USC-bound Moustakas, a shortstop who's threatening state records for single-season and career home runs. Moustakas has hit 14 home runs, giving him 42 in his career. The state records are 21 for a season and 47 for a career. Even more stunning is that he was clocked throwing 97 mph during a relief pitching stint. He has three saves and 12 strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. He could be a first-round draft pick. seems like he should be moving up draft boards rapidly.
  10. if moustakas is advised by boras theres goes my chance of seeing the dodgers draft him in the supp. from what ive read, he sound like a logan white type position player.
  11. you have to look at it from a dodgers perspective as well. their rotation is full. right now its.. schmidt lowe penny wolf billingsley kuo hendrickson tomko Zach Jackson would probably not interest them since his services would be redundant this year. If anything, prospects, who could help the big club in a year or two plus jenkins is what they would be looking at.
  12. dodger fan here. Ill give my two cents. Penny is available in a trade but the dodgers dont have to move him. hes 28yrs old, in his prime, signed for 2 more years at a very affordable price and 3rd yr team option, again for a very affordable price. The dodgers are looking for a left handed bat that could hit 25homeruns and it seems the brewers have a fit in Jenkins. that said, Jenkins alone is not worth Penny. In order for the Dodgers to move Penny, they would probably need a package of multiple players including a starting outfielder and a couple of pitching prospects. probably something like this: Brad Penny for Geoff Jenkins + Yovani Gallardo
  13. that wasnt the confident answer i was looking for. oh well.
  14. so the dodgers are still pretty high on him? I presume 26 is the only chance for the dodgers to get him since it looks like a minefield until 31.
  15. so is it going to be BA vs perfect game in the prospect/draft war?
  16. The thing about Reynolds is that his production does not match his stuff. A pitcher with his body, delivery and stuff should be dominant and striking out more then a k an inning. The Ks are the biggest factor IMO. If he cant strike people out in college ball, how does he figure to strike people out in pro ball?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  17. who would you compare him to CJ? PG has some Kazmir comparisons for him but Kiker's breaking pitch isnt as good as Kazmir's.
  18. great tidbit thanks! I like Kiker's stuff a whole lot. even though he is a midget, he is a midget that sits in the 90s and gets it up to 97 with a nasty change up. I can see a gio gonzalez comparision here. Would Kiker be LA bound at 26 or 31? Sure as hell not 7 i would hope. Also, it seems the make up issues have checked out with Kiker because I dont think Logan White would be drafting any kids this high unless their make up/background did check out. RCwarrior, any other interesting news you can pass along our way? I have also found out that Logan White and Dodger's eastcoast crosschecker were in Florida to watch Colton Willems, so he might be on the way as well.
  19. conger's a beast. so is max sapp. I think they are very comparable offensively and whoever projects to be the better out of th two defensively should get the nod.
  20. couple things about mayos mock 1- if the tigers nab kershaw im going to cry 2- dont like the dodgers pick 3- I didnt know rowell was that good, maybe CJ can shed some more light on him 4- i would laugh at the giants if they draft bard 5- the first 5 picks seem to be the norm. i also wonder if with strong finishes if chamberlain, scherzer and kennedy find their way back into the top 10.
  21. I'll probably try to make it out to the game since i live in socal.
  22. his delivery sort of reminds me of david price when i saw his scouting video coming out of HS. at 6'7, i think most likely he could add velocity. do you know where he roughly projected to go in the draft? In the bullpen video, the gun had him topping out around 91 or so.
