  1. how about having a cerveceros night with 3 bobbles, Nieves, Sixto, and Higuera, and have all of them randomly distributed, so there would be 15,000 of each. That would be cool.
  2. i like creating an all brewer team on there with Grissom, Burnitz, Jenkins, Hernandez, Surhoff, Valentine, Yount, it is fun. The one thing that is the problem with the fantasy draft though is that Bret Boone always goes in the top 5
  3. ya, but someone that isn't a huge bobblehead collector probably wouldn't even know that there was anything wrong with it, and I don't think that there is, that is probably how the seller got it.
  4. i'm glad I have both of them, then no, you got it for what it was worth, and it really doesn't look that bad to me?
  5. no, there is nothing wrong with that at all, there are not many bobbleheads that you can buy off people that are in mint condition, it is rare to get one from the stadium in mint condition, with as rare as that bobble is, the head being tilted, really makes no difference in terms of value. just curious, how much did you spend on it?
  6. mine are tilted back. You can't get mad at sellers for that because that is how they got the bobble, that is just the risks that you take with bobble collecting. Some bobbles have bad paint jobs, others have cocky springs, that is just the way they are. And more importantly since the Brewers bobbleheads are manufactured by BD&A they are sometimes made very cheaply, if they were made by destroyer or AGP, most likely, problems like this wouldn't occur.
  7. Have you seen Chris Cates play, as I'm sure you know, he was a 38th rounder in the draft for the Twins, and a pretty big influence in the college world series for Louisville. But I've seen him play for Beloit and he seems like a good player. Last night against Kane County he turned a double play taking a hit from Kane County and throwing a strike over to Matt Betsile at first. He is only 5'3" but he is really fun to watch. It seems to me in the 4 or 5 games I've watched of him, he needs to be more selective at the plate. But he is as sure handed as it gets in the field, I was just wondering if you think he will be able to go anywhere past the lower levels, or if his size will just cut him down. Thanks for the help, and hopefully it isn't a weird question.
  8. Micheal Young belongs no where near a discussion of Jose Reyes and Derek Jeter. That has nothing to do with the topic at hand...
  9. yes, and that bobblehead was an embarrasment, it just seems weird to me to make bobbleheads of players that the casual fan outside of Milwaukee has no clue who they are.
  10. his dad doesn't go down to the lines with him anymore, and he is just a kid, so no one cares.
  11. http://www.survivinggrady.com/uploaded_images/018704-773759.jpg
  12. there might have been people saying that he should have been an all-star, but I don't recall anyone saying that he was a perenial all-star, perenial all-stars are guys like Jose Reyes, Derek Jeter, Michael Young as you mentioned, no one ever called hima perenial all-star, and if they did it was probably joking, Bill Hall never was and never will be a perenial all-star. He is still a solid player that is underachieving.
  13. i still play on ps2, my freind and I just update the rosters ourselves.
  14. 12 maybe 13, but he cuts in line and is a jerk to everyone, and I think that he gets stuff for his dad to sell.
  15. and clearly I don't know how to do math...i guess I see your point, but if I am buying one off of a guy at a game, or trading for one, I'm not going to trade or pay what it might be 5 years later, but I get what you're saying. bottom line, it is just finding the right person to deal with.
  16. i guess plesac would be ok, but listach had on good year.
  17. why not Nelson Figueroa, btw, I was at the Snappers game tonight, and someone had a Figueroa jersey on.
  18. If people realized that last year was his career year and that he is not the pernianal all start that posters claimed last year. That is a generalization that is mostly wrong, and it is really annoying, just because someone has a favorite player, doesn't mean that they think that he is an all-star. Who on Brewerfan.net seemed to think that he was a perenial all-star? Just because people like a player, doesn't mean they think that they are the best in the league. Lots of posters are high on Gross, that doesn't mean that they think he should be an all-star. I never said that he should hit 30 home runs this year, I was thinking more along the lines of 20-25, but there is no doubt this year has been a dissapointment, had he been hitting well, you had Hardy in the 2nd spot being protected by Braun who would see pitches because Fielder was after him, but you would have to pitch to Fielder because Hall is a threat. But that didn't happen.
  19. Hart's not exactly hot right now. Who said that he was?
  20. that isn't a fair comparison warriors, though the numbers may not match up, 2 for 1 value wise is fair, most of the bobbles go for around $10 or $15, and most of the alternates go around $30 - $35 There are 5,000 alternates There are 40,000 regulars, That seems to be 1 in 8, but that also isn't accurate because it is certain boxes of what they are in, they aren't in every box.
  21. way to go hall. i need to rip on Brewers more often...
  22. if pat listach and dan plesac get bobbles, then bobbleheads have gone too far.
  23. the strikouts I don't mind, Adam Dunn is one of my favorite players, and if you look at his strikouts he looks terrible, but his production is amazing, the strikouts aren't the problem.
  24. if you are looking for a glove, why mess with Barnwell, just bring up Crabbe.
  25. what is Gross', his production has to be better if not just as good, and Hart needs to be in the lineup everyday, there is no excuse for him grabbing pine because Gross is hot, the team has no speed if Hart is not in that lineup, especially with as little as Weeks is seeing the field.
