The screen doesn't have to be a certain size, but the smaller the better - maybe 14". Someone in the thread mentioned the Acer Aspire. That is only $270 and has great reviews, but I have been told to avoid Acer.

By saying I want it to last, I mean that I am willing to spend a little more as long as I'm not getting a piece of junk. I keep hearing great things about Mac's, is there a way to get an older model for around $500-600? Is it stupid to spend that kind of money on an old computer?

I appreciate any help. I don't know much about computers other than they are much cheaper than when I purchased my first laptop 7 years ago. I do not want to spend a lot ($250-400?), but I want something that will last. I will be using the laptop for Rosetta Stone, internet, and itunes. Does anyone have suggestions on brand? model? Just wondering if anyone has suggestions on where the best place is to buy gold/silver? I have been to Derzon Coin in West Allis and was wondering if there are other retailers or legitimate websites that have less markup? I appreciate the help. Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated... I am supposed to be flying out next Thursday night at 7 pm (Frontier Airlines) for a wedding. The wedding plans have changed, and I need to be there by the afternoon. There are 2 flights leaving earlier in the day - 6 am and 10 am. I spoke with someone from the airlines and the only guarantee is spending $400 to switch flights. What are my chances of getting on one of the earlier flights if I get to the airport early in the morning (stand by situation)? Is there anything I can do to better my chances? Thanks

I have never owned a digital camera and I think it is time to break down and get one. Anyone have suggestions on what brand(s) are the best? I won't be doing anything fancy with it, I just want to get something that will last and won't get outdated real quick. For example, I saw a new Samsung with 7.2 megapixel for $100. I have no idea if that is a deal or not. I appreciate the help.
