  1. What's bugging me? Stupid commercials during the Brewers radio broadcasts. I'm not a violent person by nature, but such anger wells up in my very soul when I hear "B-Rad" talking about his free cell phone that I fear for those near me. Serenity Now...Serenity Now.
  2. I just thought he was a fan of Paul Quantrill.
  3. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/11/brewers-claim-arcenio-leon.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MlbTradeRumors+%28MLB+Trade+Rumors%29 The Brewers announced that they claimed right-hander Arcenio Leon off of waivers from the Astros. Leon spent the 2012 season pitching in relief for Houston's Double-A affiliate. The 26-year-old appeared in 44 games, posting a 4.38 ERA with 8.2 K/9 and 4.7 BB/9 in 63 2/3 innings. He has had trouble limiting walks in eight seasons as a professional, as his career rate of 5.2 BB/9 indicates.

  7. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/10/ben-sheets-to-retire.html Ben Sheets will retire after he pitches tomorrow, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports (on Twitter). Sheets, who joined the Braves midseason after missing the entire 2011 campaign, said he will never pitch again. Sheets, 34, made eight starts for the Braves this summer after missing a year to recover from flexor tendon surgery. He posted a 3.54 ERA with 6.1 K/9 and 2.4 BB/9 in 48 1/3 innings for Atlanta this year, re-establishing himself as a legitimate MLB starter. The Brewers selected Sheets with the tenth overall pick in the 1999 draft and he spent most of his career in Milwaukee. He put together a number of strong seasons with the Brewers, including a memorable 2004 campaign. Sheets posted a 2.70 ERA with 264 strikeouts and just 32 walks in 237 innings that year, finishing eighth in the Cy Young balloting. In ten MLB seasons, Sheets has a 94-96 record, a 3.78 ERA and 1323 strikeouts in 1595 2/3 innings. He has earned more than $52MM as a professional, according to Baseball-Reference.
  8. My wife watches the local morning news show each day. I try my best to avoid it, but sometimes I get sucked in. This morning, they were doing a satellite interview with some C-List celebrity. I thought something looked just a bit "off" with the interview. The timing between the questions and the answers was just not natural. At first I thought it was just satellite delay...but then I started to think that it might not be "live". Do local shows like that receive a video copy of the "celebrity" answering scripted questions that the interviewer must follow? I guess that makes sense...so that "Johnny Neverwas" doesn't have to do the same interview dozens of times to promote his new sitcom...but something about it just rubs me the wrong way.
  9. Phil Hartman as Frank Sinatra. Chris Rock as Luther Campbell. Sting as Billy Idol. Jan Hooks as Sinead O'Connor. http://www.hulu.com/watch/3531
  10. One of the first games that I went to as a kid was in the mid-to-late 80's. It was against the Rangers...it was seat cushion night, and something happened in the game that inspired everyone in the bleachers to throw their seat cushions onto the warning track. (dont' remember exactly what prompted it...I remember something about Pete Incaviglia running into the wall and getting hurt?) Anyway, play was delayed for several minutes while staff collected all the seat cushions from the track. That may have been the last seat cushion give away game.
  11. Whenever I hear the song, Wonderwall, by Oasis, I find myself thinking: "Because Maybe You're gonna be the one that saves me and after all your John VanderWal"
  12. He never actually played for the Brewers, but I believe he was the starting center fielder in Spring Training on the replacement player squad of 1995: Basil Shabazz.
  13. Probably just Russell Branyan taking batting practice.
