  1. Don Money was spoiled having having Adam Heether as his 3rd baseman for several seasons.
  2. And Weeks is appropriately named when it comes to his "D" at 2B.
  3. Overall, I think the Brew Crew treated Heether pretty well. They gave him lots of ABs over the years. I was looking forward to seeing Gamel, Katin & the Heet in the Sounds lineup. That would have been some decent thunder.
  4. I don't see Heether's OPS of .902 (2009) as being average at all. Many organizations could use a player like that.
  5. The SF Giants have been the torchbearers when it comes to signing past-prime, overpaid, too much worn tread veterans. You can always see the train wreck coming.
  6. The Sound prove that pitching, defense and timely hitting add u pto victories
  7. Please ask me again after Doug Melvin leaves.
  8. Where did announcer Brett Pollock end up? I think he is an excellent announcer.
  9. A big part of McGuire's success was due to opposing pitchers refusing to pitch inside to him. They's just let him dig in. The few times that he did get dusted, he'd become unglued, just like the Princess.
  10. An .809 OPS wins the "Hitter of the Year" award? Schafer finished the season strong, that must have been what won it for him.
  11. Macha's disdain for the stolen base may come from his time with the Oakland A's. "Moneyball" preaches that the risk of running into an out is not worth the possible reward.
  12. Nashville's Heether is much better than Hall, in every way.
  13. Pardon Peav, I meant the "Twins". These geriatrics hit in the .220s and .230s. Giving them roster spots is rewarding mediocrity. Can't wait for Counsell's annual home run.
  14. Melvin's decisions are questionable at best. I hope he doesn't lock into the weak duo of Lamb and Counsell. The Brewers should allow a Spring Training competition that allows opportunity for others to earn these roster spots. These senior citizens were barely adequate at their peak. The Twins cut Lamb for being too lazy. I think Melvin is too enamored with left handed batters.
  15. Counsell's return would be disapointing. His production does not merit a return. Why not give a youngster a shot?
  16. Rotino is a nice story and a nice kid, but..... A .313 on base percentage leaves a lot to be desired. I think there were others more deserving of a call-up.
  17. I know he thinks he's a "baller" for nailing the catcher, but I don't think that kind of play should be encouraged. He didn't even try to slide.
  18. From the way I've seen Gamel kick the ball around, he'll never reach "average" as a 3rd baseman.
  19. I beg to differ. AAA has far superior pitching to AA. It often takes a competent hitter a season + to get dialed in. For reference, look at Katin, Chavez, Sollman and Heether. Good BA's in Huntsville, but growing pains in AAA.
  20. Yea, I was wondering about that when we watched the Sounds in Vegas 3 weeks ago. The transaction log had Hopf transferred, but there he was in the bullpen. From my observations, Hopf is a more effective catcher than Munson at this point.
  21. Woodward? What is the rational for this move? It's gor to be disheartening to the guys working their way up the chain.
  22. That day still hurts. That was great broadcasting by Brett. I wish Money would have left our ace in there for that last inning.
  23. Like 2 years ago in BC, the ball has been jumping offf of his bat. He was the the top offensive cog during Hville's 12 game streak this month. He definately has a chance to do some damage in the Big Leagues.Unfortunately, for him it looks like 3B is spoken for.
  24. Promote Gamel? Yes, he's tearing it up at the plate this month, but 39 errors?
