Hi all,

Do any of you know a repair place in the Fox Valley that would be able to solder the DC jack back in to place on a nearly new Gateway laptop (out of warranty by a month)? Or, is it all that hard to do? Gateway said that they would replace the motherboard instead of fixing this one and that would be nearly as expensive as getting a brand new laptop. This is not in my plans...

If it is just loose on the board, it is a pretty easy fix.. as long as you aren't the soldering equivalent of Matt Wise with salad tongs. I'd do it myself.
