Braun's baserunning made that play. If you noticed on the replay, he stopped halfway to second. By the time the 1st baseman realized what was happening it was too late. Gotta love smart baserunning.

Well I understand the idea of a big inning but Counsell hasn't hit the ball out of the infield all night. With the pitcher on second who probably isn't going to score on a hit any way, to swing away makes no sense...

I agree about Suppan. You can't get much better run support, and to turn the game back into a struggle is more than disappointing. With the Royals' depleted bullpen, this needed to be a stomp-on-the-throat type of win, not a back-and-forth game.

 

Perhaps we see a change in pitching rotation, at least after the All Star Break?

Suppan has really been sucking it up his last several starts.

I know that a double switch with Jenkins coming in means lefty on lefty but I would still rather have Weeks in the game.
