Milwaukee Tattoo Shops

Lady friend and myself are determined to go get a tattoo this week. What are the cleanest, safest, best all around tattoo shops in Milwaukee? I'm sure someone here has some experience in this, let me know!

I go to Solid State Tattoo on KK in Bayview. I wouldn't go anywhere else. All the guys at the shop do a great job. I have heard and seen really good things out of Atombomb in Riverwest and Cutthroat on Brady as well.

We've heard good things about all three you listed as well. Anyone else have past experience as any place in MKE? We are trying to research this as good as possible before we go.

body ritual on the eastside has done 2 portraits on me and 2 on my wife along with about 3 more on her and they are great. i love mine.

I've gotten stuff done at both Atomic tattoos on North ave, and Custom tattoo on Farwell (kiddy corner to comet).

 

Both do excellent work. Si is the man at Atomic who's done work for me and a few other people. They've got a nice enviroment, and if you want portraits done, he's phenomenal.

 

Greg at Custom is also super good. He cracks jokes and holds a good conversation, so if it's your first time, it takes your mind off the needle.

 

Most tattoo places now, especially on the east side are pretty competitive. I think they are all gonna have pretty good guys at it. Most of them are pretty ballpark as far as prices. The key is to tip your guy for their time, (15% is pretty standard, I think.) it helps in the future. It also is good to name drop a friend who's gotten work done there. That helps out your buddy in the future as well, and it might save you a few bucks on the spot as well.

 

I will try to get some of my tattoos up in the next day or so.
