Counsell is essential to the Brewers.

 

I don't trust McGehee, Escobar and Weeks to all play up to their potential and stay healthy.

My friend got us some insane tickets right behind the Brewers on-deck circle. Got some great pictures of Podsednik, a Brooks Kieschnick AB, and #8... Matt Erickson. It was truly a wondrous event that I found myself with those seats on a cloudy day to take that picture of Craig!

Counsell is not the 3 win player that last year suggests. However, as an extremely versatile defender who can step into any non-1B infield role and produce at a 1.5-2.5 win per 600 PA level, Counsell is well worth the 2.1 million dollar contract that he signed for.

The contract may be nice. I would hate for Counsell to actually get more than 400 PA in 2010 though.
