Terrible at bat Braun. 7 of his 11 pitches were for balls and he just walked a guy and you swing at a crappy first pitch.

I was thinking the same thing as early as game 2 with Braun. It really concerns me. And Fielder come on.

I don't mind Braun swinging at the first pitch. It was a fastball down the middle. There's no sense in letting a fat one go by and getting yourself down 0-1.

 

 

I'm a little nervous for Davis since Dempster wasn't getting the corners called with a home plate ump who is from Chicago.

It was a slider outside.
Regardless of what it was, it didn't seem to break much and was over the plate. I'm all for guys swinging at pitches they like. It's when they start fishing and flailing that it becomes a problem.

Macha is still doing a horrible job getting guys playing time. A few days from now we will need Gerut to pinch hit and he will not have faced live pitching for a long time. Then he won't get playing time because he isn't hitting well.

 

And Ken will find himself in a zim zam and wonder why.

Nice consistency between the 1st and 2nd innings for the home plate ump. That third strike to Escobar was a ball last inning.

Ugh... Bad jump?
Looked ok, but I'd have to see it again. It was a perfect throw, though. He was out by so much that he had to have had a bad jump, too.
