I don't think the argument is that he's been throwing meat all year. The argument is that his bad pitches have been very hittable, and guys have been taking advantage of that. The ERA is a partial testament to that idea. His BABIP doesn't have to go down. You'd expect it to, but it doesn't have to.

Fastballs down the middle (like that last hit given up) tend to get hit hard, and tend to turn into basehits rather than outs. I fully understand how BABIP is calculated.

His K/9 has nothing to do with his FB location and everything to do with how good his 2, 3, and 4 pitches are.

Except there where he hangs a slider right down the middle...

Well that is about as good of a outcome as we could have hoped for. Maybe that jolts him and he can do a quick 5th and 6th. (Being optimistic here).

if you told me that ZG would only give up a single run with the bases juiced and nobody out and still have a 2 run lead. I'd take that any day of the week

Phillips-Votto-Bruce. Get through this with no damage (and without 17 piches to the last two guys) and Zach should be in a lot better shape.

Corey still looks out of sorts when running.

It's why he prefers to hit home runs

I'd imagine he's still battling his recent bug
