stupid song question

I want to download a song from Itunes. Its off the Napolean Dynamite soundtrack, and its called "the promise" by When in Rome. However, for some reason Itunes wont let me buy jsut that song, i'd have to buy the entire soundtrack. I thought maybe it would be like that for all the songs on the soundtrack, but its not. Does anyone know why i cant buy just that one, or where i could download from?

I think because there are a bunch of songs on the album that are only a few seconds long. They only sell the whole album. If you do a search for "When in Rome", that song comes up. It's not the 7:57 version that's on the soundtrack though. But you can get just that song.

I don't think it has much to do with the other tracks on the album; it's just something that some motion picture studios do (presumably to force people to buy soundtrack albums).

 

Without actually knowing....I'd guess it's a Sony Pictures soundtrack (they do the same thing for Spider-Man 1-3).

 

 

That being said, 'The Promise' by When in Rome predates the movie...and should be available for individual download somewhere else.
