Early season statistical fun

Nine games into the season the Brewers enjoy the following statistics in the majors:

- 2nd fewest walks (18)

- 1st in sacrifices (6)

- 2nd in SBs (10)

- 1st in caught stealing (4)

- Have no pinch hits (in 7 ABs)

- 3rd in BA (.284)

- 4th in SLG

- Lowest ERA (1.95)

- Most shutouts (2) - tied with 5 or 6 other teams

With the small sample, this really doesn't say a lot. However, I would say that is shows we are an aggressive team - both in the field and at the plate. None of that is a surprise.

My only concern with the team so far is the lack of walks. I saw that coming given the makeup of the roster given our most patient hitter is probably Reynolds. Even Braun and Ramirez aren't high walk guys for as good of hitters as they are and Gomez/Segura are very much free swingers. Davis makes Carlos look really patient.

That said, the lineup does look to have a nice mix of some high batting average hitters, power, and speed.

They may not walk much, but they also don't strike out a lot. Gomez, Weeks and Reynolds are really the only big strike out guys. Maybe Davis, too.
