Cole Hamels to Rangers for 6 Prospects

Top catching prospect Jorge Alfaro, left-hander Matt Harrison, outfielder Nick Williams and minor league right-handers Alec Asher, Jake Thompson and Jerad Eickhoff will be shipped to the Phillies, sources said.

 

The Rangers also get left-handed reliever Jake Diekman in the trade for a group of six prospects.

looks like the rangers are back. next year's team will be very nice. the offense will be nasty as usual plus now a rotation trio of darvish, hamels, and gallardo (if he returns). rangers vs astros for the division will be fun to watch. heck we might not even have to wait. rangers could easily make a monster push for the playoffs this year.

Phillies got quite the haul. Three top 100 prospects including two top 50 in Thompson, Alfaro and Williams, all at AA, with Alfaro the oldest having just turned 22 and a couple other AAA pitchers that probably are better than what the Phillies had.
