Love to see Denson swinging a hot bat, but his move off of 1B is still puzzling to me. So far, he has played one game in the OF and the rest at DH.

 

Was playing 1B defense difficult for him? Any opinions from the guys that saw him in person?

 

Saw him play enough 1B, and he's not a gold-glover but it's not like he was so awful he couldn't play the position. I've seen worse for sure. It is puzzling. Only thing I can think of is they want him to try to learn the corner OF. Obviously, the more positions a guy can play the better his chances will be. But that doesn't seem to be happening either, because like you said he's playing mostly DH.

Flexibility is fine. But moving a 260lb guy from a position of need (1B) to a position of strength (OF) in the organization is odd also. Not to mention 260lb OFers rarely stick...
