There was an interesting paragraph about what the Brewers might do in an article by Josh Boyd on teams holding the line on signing bonuses.

 

"The Brewers would be happy to have Young, if Tampa Bay chooses Weeks, or Loewen, who Brewers GM Doug Melvin made a special scouting trip to see, just in case".

is Melvin can serve as another national crosschecker. I believe Dean did a great job in putting together a scouting program, but Doug has an eye for it and this should help Jack Z. and others.
