I wouldn't say excellent at all. He didn't work one clean inning and struggled at times. It's a small miracle he's only given up one run to this point.

Yeah sometimes you don’t have your best stuff. The fact that he didn’t give up many runs while not having his stuff is what some would call excellent.

I agree, not seeing the issue with letting Guerra start that inning.

Because it's the exact same scenario that happened last week with Anderson. In a one run game, he clearly didn't have his best stuff but Counsell tried to squeeze another inning out of him simply to clear his spot in the order the next time up. He got away with it tonight but he sure didn't last time. It didn't help either that he pulled Anderson for Boone Logan in a game they were only trailing by one run.
