Yeah, and I just think the Dodgers catch the Rockies.

Playing any team, at home, in a one-game, single elimination format is going to be basically a coin flip. I can live with losing to the Dodgers. If we lose to the Rockies, that sucks, but it happens. The Cardinals? That would just hurt.

I think of it like this: the marginally better one-game odds aren't worth the emotional consequences of seeing the Cardinals celebrate at MP again.

I felt like that when the Packers played the Bears in the NFC Championship game in 2011. The pain of losing to them and watch them go to the Super Bowl would have been greater than the joy of beating them. I was so nervous.

So kind of interesting comment by Pedro Martinez on mlb network. When he was playing for the expos he used to babysit Travis Shaw so he was cheering for him tonight. I find that very endearing.

I love this game and I love this team, but the pace of this game is excruciating.
Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

That's the way I feel too. Losing to any team in the playoffs would be horrible. But losing to the Cardinals or Cubs in the playoffs would by cringe-worthy horrible.

Are guys with giant red beards typically fast baserunners?

The hipster beards that some of these guys are wearing these days are the opposite of athletic looking.

Are there women in this world that actually like that look?

Dodgers will overtake the Rockies and lost to the Braves. Cubs will beat the Rockies but lose to the Brewers. Brewers beat Cleveland in the WS.
but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

I’m dying. :laughing

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Moose is a leader. Well spoken solid ball player. Been a favorite of mine since I drafted him a few years ago in fantasy ball. Always keep him. So happy he is on my real life team now.

Now lets get this series.

I agree on Moose. He's been a nice pickup. Solid middle-of-the-order bat, very good defensively, and seems like a well-liked team leader. I wouldn't have a problem at all if they considered keeping him for next year. Shaw has shown enough to say that he can be adequate at 2B defensively.

What else can you say about Cain, Yelich, and Jeffress. All three are so good and so consistent.

Nice to see Arcia with a good game and boy was that 2 rbi bunt double huge.

Burnes was big tonight. He's really taken to the bullpen role nicely. He's really been a big part of this bullpen stabilization.

The only negative thing I have to say about the game is that Soria has fallen out of my circle of trust.

I hope they can win the series tomorrow because Williams has been absolutely dominant in the second half and he's starting for the Bucs on Sunday.

I have to say I find it amusing that Burnes has more wins this year then Archer.......

A lot less losses too........:)

Ps yes I know wins and losses are not a good way to evaluate pitchers......I still find it funny

I like moose as much as the next guy, but middle of the order bat? I mean...I guess that can happen when our MVP bats are OBP machines and are at the top. Typically you wouldn’t want a bat like Moustakas in the middle of the order. His OPS isn’t even over .800 and is a pop up machine it feels like. Not really a drive him in type.

1) I feel good about our top 6 bullpen options in the playoffs.

2) Can we stop cheering for the Dodgers? I get it's the Cardinals but the talent between the two when fully healthy isnt even close. Kershaw in a wild card game or 2 or 3 times in a long playoff series? No thanks!

I too hate the Cards but I'd rather face them than the Dodgers in the playoffs this year. :tongue

I hope Moose returns in 2019 too.
