I don't really get using him there. Maybe there is some data that he is the best of the PH options against high velocity or something.

Better using him in the second than in the seventh.

The inning is not as important as the context. With RISP you dont want to use your worst ph

This is so stupid...using Hader this early when you are behind..Roberts isn't going to PH, so what is the damn point. there are others that can hold the deficit. the crew probably only gets one more inning to make it happen against walker or it's game over..It will be Kershaw, Baez, Jansen

Except Roberts did PH.

I don't get why we didn't use Grandy. It's not like they were going to pull Buehler, and now they'll just use a lefty later when we want to use Grandy and waste him.

Exactly. What better situation do you want for using Granderson? It will be such a waste if he gets his plate appearance with 2 on and nobody out. Runs at this stage of the game count just as much as runs later in the game.

Wouldn't Grandy be the CF if Cain were to get hurt? No Broxton in this series.

If Hader keeps it 2-1, I will have no issue with it. Schoop is fine, there are going to be so many ops for PH later in the game, that he is the guy I want to burn in the 2nd inning, runners on or not.

We are trying to shut it down starting now. Hader 3, JJ 2 Knebel for the Pennant. Great move, use your best pitchers for as much as possible in the must win games. Just RRR should have brought Axford in for Marcum in the 2nd inning of game 6 in 2011

Yelich would move to CF in that scenario.

Perez to RF and Yelich to CF. Not ideal, but it's workable.

Getting Harder in early to keep it close but then batting Schoop with 2 on seems like a mixed message.

I think he's probably thinking there will be other bigger spots later in the game when he'd rather use Santana, Granderson etc..so he doesn't want to burn one of them this early and not have them available later in the game.

Do you throw Hader until his arm falls off or he gets in trouble? I mean, being dramatic, but 60 pitches? 75 pitches?

God no, maybe like 50 or so. 4 innings max if you are nuts.

10 pitches per inning he can go 4...

Joc is off the board and Kiki in (and he’s been bad)

Still.. we need to get some runs here while he’s in there ! Really can clip this game here . Big bottom half here. Let’s gooooo
