By the end of this year looks like the top 2 active WAR leaders will be on the same team, Pujols and Trout. Not sure if that has ever been true before

Grandal has been...pretty darn bad behind the dish. Dude couldn’t make a play back there to save his life.

There you go...

This team loves to play to the competition... Three games against the Reds all decided by 1 run... Come into LAA and look like the bad news bears...

Hardly, it was a terrible throw and he got gifted by the call on the field. The umpire called a tag he couldn’t even see and on reply looked like he missed.

In his defense, that was a pretty tough pitch to throw on.

This game has had glimpses of good mixed with moments of a team that looks like they have jet lag.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

It was a good enough throw after catching a slider down and away.

I’m more shocked they even had a chance and he would have been out by a mile with a good throw. Calhoun must be slow as molasses because he got one heck of a jump.

Can Jesus not be anywhere near the middle of the lineup if he starts? Are the advanced stats telling us he hasn't been as awful as meets the eye?

At least moose doesn't have to worry about first base this time!

What do Shaw's numbers look like?

xAVG is .194 and generally has been in the .250 range for his career. Also has only one barrell and a low launch angle. His xwOBA is .301 which is about league average and is mostly due to the good BB percentage.

I don't think there's a single stat that says he isn't awful. I defended him last year during his horrible stretch, but he has been abysmal this season. He should be batting no higher than 7th, yet every game he's in at #4 (or #5)...

With regular playing time I would venture to argue that Thames should start over Aguilar.

I think you could make an argument that 3 of our pitchers should start at 1B instead of Aguilar...
