Arcia isn't a bad hitter when he swings at strikes.

 

He just needs to have a good swing. Chasing stuff isn’t what makes him one of the worst hitters in baseball. It is the fact even when swinging at good pitches his mechanics are so pitiful he can’t do anything with the ball. A good approach is nice, but man he just needs to figure out how to have a good swing first.

I am guessing they were deer in the headlights trying to figure out if Yelich actually caught it or just fell down after failing to get it like most players do when missing a fly ball. Then Yelich popped up and...well...Pujols can only can scamper so fast. He had to of been at third when that happened.

He is going to have these kind of games sometimes, especially early in the year...last April most of this board thought he was a bad signing based on his first few starts.

I'm so glad Aguilar's outs are hit so hard. He's good for 4 each game... Outs that is...

 

So I looked at xStats totally not knowing what to expect the results to be. Going into tonight's game his xAVG is .275, xwOBA is .356. He has only barrelled one ball all year which is pretty bad as his the 7.1 degree average launch angle. I think the fact he has walked more than he has struck out is padding his expected stats but his quality of contact has been pretty low.

What do Shaw's numbers look like?
