Horrible strike call to Urias.

Hasn't been a very well called game today either. The guy last night might have been average but the average of a bunch of garbage is still garbage.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

The cumulative performance of the overall umpiring in this series has been very poor, no doubt.

Sooner or later something has to give and we'll see an automated zone. They can still stand behind home plate and do their exaggerated hand gestures, they just won't be making the decisions anymore.

Previous guy walks, next guy comes up trying to be a hero, sees zero strikes in 4 pitches, and makes 2 outs.

That's how you get shut out.

If they pull Woodruff after one more inning I will be pretty disappointed with Counsell not taking a shot there.

Woody is gonna get a long break after today. It wouldn't surprise me if they pushed him 100+ pitches today, provided he remains at lease somewhat effective.

Or they pull him before 100 pitches.

Well, we got an extra 6 outs from Woody by not pinch hitting for him earlier. Hopefully, that will pay off with some runs here now as he did his part through 6 innings of work.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

It's relatively impressive to me that that was probably one of the 3 worst outings I've seen from Woodruff all year and he went 6 innings and gave up 1 run against a really good lineup.

Great, gutty performance from Woody today. Didn't have his strikeout stuff but got the job done.

Woodruff really gutted it out today, sure would be nice for the offense to put him in line for the win this inning.

Great job from Woody. Didn't have his best stuff and gave up just 1 run. His command wasn't there bust no walks today.
