In regards to the individual games I would agree that the run estimation from the ump scorecard is not the be all and end all for how much impact there would have been if we rewind the tape and replay the game with a robot ump. But because there are so many pitchers a pure run probability approach over a full season will give you some very good insights on the impact of umping.
