Escobar was such a solid pick up. Would love to re-sign him in the off season. The only better fit I could think of is Kris Bryant. Maybe Attanasio would pony up for both :)

Might be a good time to increase your launch angle if everything you’re hitting is hard and right at infielders, Christian.

well that inning went horribly. Why didn’t wong score?

I'm stuck with the Cubs broadcast. Did they show a replay on the Brewers feed of Wong there?

Yes. The most he did was just jump back and forth about 10 feet in front of third base.

Cain and Garcia are hurt.....jbj is gonna play.

I know that. But I guarantee if you if it as the playoffs both of those guys would be playing today with their niggling injuries

Or at least one of them over jbj

Yes probably Garcia but not Cain …..but Brewers are doing the prudent thing so why complain?

Whos complaining. It’s an off the cuff half a joke comment

God. Sometimes I think I joined the players families or parents board

Arrieta wasting no time giving the Cardinals a big lead.

EDIT: Looks like he's out of the game due to injury. A bullpen game for an already depleted Padres bullpen. Looks like the magic number is only dropping to two at best today.

Yes, he continues to look awful, but Fernando Tatis Jr. is playing CF and dropped a routine pop up to CF with the bases loaded and no outs.

It’s now 5-0 with just one out recorded in the 1st inning.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I almost would prefer the Cards get the second WC at this point. Obviously anything can happen in a 1 game playoff, but if the Dodgers wind up in that WC game, would prefer a team give them a fight. If Flaherty can get healthy in time or even Wainwright may give the Cards a puncher's chance.

Yeah and then they'll ride that wave to another championship, beating the Brewers in the NLCS just like 2011.

That 2011 Cardinals team seemed a lot better than their 2021 version. They’re on a nice winning streak right now, but just over a week ago they were basically a .500 team. I would be ecstatic if the only thing that stood between the Brewers and the World Series was this Cardinals team.

Right. I'd 100% rather face the Cardinals in the NLCS, should the Brewers advance that far, than the Dodgers or the Giants.
