Burnes wanted Game 4? Yes.
CC wanted him to go Game 4? Yes.
Burnes was honest in that he said he wasn’t 100% ready but said he could still pitch well.

Now I’m just confused as to what you are even arguing in this post?

Both management and player wanted to pitch but they determined he wasn’t recovered enough AND they had a quality option in Lauer (obviously not as good as Burnes but still damn good last year) who was 100% ready to go.

Fortunately, we have wiser minds running the team.

Why is it unreasonable to use a starter on short rest or a bullpen pitcher to pitch two innings in a postseason game?  What's the point of limiting innings during the regular season if the guy can't pitch when you need him to?

I don't think the wiser minds running the Brewers have a WS banner yet.

I didn't read this thread, but I saw that the "Brewers offense 2022" thread was really long and I KNEW I didn't want to read that one, so this one seems like it should get some posts.  On pace for 101 team wins. Not bad.

Bryce Harper (26 million), JTR (23.875 million), Castellanos (20 million), Schwarber (19 million), Segura (14.25 million), Hoskins (7.7 million).

Guess the Phillies didn’t have enough money left to buy a run.

the brewers don't play a stretch of five games without an off day until 6 august. made sense to send ethan small on optional assignment. unless there's an injury, small won't be eligible to be recalled for that game, but jason alexander could certainly be recalled for a spot start.

not worth speculating on 6 august's opening pitcher just yet, as it's after the trading deadline.
