  1. I get it, people are going to be disappointed. I don't think it is coincidence they gave up guys that weren't even in our top 30 on ANY list in the preseason. That is a win for what is becoming a development factory that is getting the best out of their prospects. Ya I wish they went for a starter with more control like a Jose Soriano. I love prospects as much as the next Brewer fanatic poster and watch a fair bit of games. From the few times I have watched Frias he is going to need serious work on elevating the ball. Yes he swings really freaking hard but that swing leads to a ton of ground balls. He won't be the last 18 year old to dominate the Arizona Rookie League. Heck I wish we cashed in on Jose Anderson last year. Ragsdale has had a hell of a season and will be able to play center field. I think he is closer to a Joey Wiemer than he is to being a everyday regular at the MLB level. Wish we would have cashed in on Wiemer's helium. I probably like Dustin May a fair bit more than the consensus. It will be all about trying to figure out how to tunnel his sweeper off of his other pitches. To the posters saying why didn't they just sign him in the offseason instead of Woodruff. Hindsight is always 20/20. Dustin May was not a good pitcher last year by every metric and wasn't showing the fastball velocity he has shown this season. May has a 3.91 xERA, 3.14 FIP, 3.94 SIERA and a 93 DRA- this season. He is a good pitcher this season contrary to what some posters spew on this thread.
  2. Grindlinger was also on the Brewers area code team. And Grindlinger is also ranked 17 on BA. Another high school kid who reclassified and was on the Brewers area code team who won't turn 18 till a week after the draft is LHP-Logan Schmidt. Who is ranked 34 on pipeline and 27 on BA.
  3. Could make the case for Pratt, Lara, and Williams all to be in Milwaukee. Wonder who gets the call first.

  5. Isaac Collins has an fWar of 0.0 Nick Mears has an FWar of 0.1 Even if Zerpa was a terrible player and didn't get hurt this would still not even be close to being defined as a "miss" I am not even sure if Isaac Collins is a MLB left fielder. He was good defensively for a couple months with the Brewers but that cratered later in the season. If Collins can't be an average left fielder than what value does he have? Seems like he can't play anywhere else.
  6. Collins still has an fWar of 0.0 because of his defense being poor. Still not sure he is actually a MLB capable defender even in left field. He had a good first couple months defense with the Brewers and then it cratered. Playing in KC's large outfield probably doesn't help him. Obviously sucks Zerpa got hurt but I don't think this will turn into some huge regret of a trade.
  7. Considering both Strider and Greene both had histories of TJ surgery and were probably more open to an extension and Miz is still a ways a way from hitting a year of service time like those guys my guess would be a guaranteed $95-$105 Million if both club options are activated then $135-$145 Million.
  8. Jesus Made may or may not sign an extension but it has 0% to do with Cooper Pratt signing.
  9. No it did force Chourio onto the 40 man roster. If you sign a MLB contract you need to be put on the 40 man roster.
  10. Who knows for sure but knowing that Made would take up a 40 man roster spot while he is still in AA probably has something to do with it. If they are going to extend Made I think it would come in October or November before the December 1st lockout happens.
  11. Jackson Chourio 19 years old 2023 wrC+ at AA 109 Cooper Pratt 20 years old 2025 wrC+ at AA 107 The Southern League has had an average OPS of .662 the past two years.
  12. This has been a nice trip down memory lane to 2019 watching Burnes struggle.
  13. Even though he doesn't blow away hitters to me Gasser has the stuff to be a major league pitcher. The metrics say that as well. It is going to come down to if he can locate and have an effective game plan to neutralize right handed hitters. Gasser is at his best when his changeup is effective against right handed hitters.
  14. With the way the current roster is constructed I feel like David Hamilton is going to get a decent amount of playing time at 3B, more so than a lot of fans will want.
  15. Williams ISO being overlooked because of his height is already getting old.
