Yelich just walked into the clubhouse with the trainer…

I'm torn between damn, we don't have anyone to replace him and good, not like he has been doing anything positive lately anyway.  Leaning towards the latter.

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

The way things are going our roster will be filled with mostly Nashville players.

I wondered if Yelich hurt himself on that great catch...

A good pitcher, everybody hurt, and the manager putting forth a terrible lineup.  Everything lining up for another Musgrove no hitter.

Thanks Wong. At least we don't get no hit.

I haven’t been able to watch the game until in the 7th. I now see that Pablo Reyes has been called up and is playing. No wonder why we almost got no-hit… when he’s playing we are in dire straits.

Cain needs to make that play if he isn't going to hit. I don't see a lot of reasons to keep him around right now other than half the team is hurt.

It’s comical too because one of our top prospects is a SS and is just sitting there in AAA rn…

+1.... As bad as this was it could have been worse.

At the time Reyes was added they were looking at a few more days of Urias at SS then Adames returning. No way Turang comes up to fill a bench role. As others have said, the time to pull the Turang trigger would've been when Adames first hit the IL, give him regular time at SS & leave Urias at third. They chose not to.

They may have no choice if Urias has to go on the IL for his thumb injury after tonight. Especially if your only other options for the left-side of the infield right now are Peterson and Reyes. You can send Turang back down when Adames returns.

Personally I'd be OK with that, but I see no chance Turang comes up for only 2-3 days.

I just don't see how, if Urias has to go on the IL, we can afford to go forward with Peterson and Reyes as our only left-side options for even the remainder of the weekend. Remember, Turang can play other positions as well, including 2B and CF. There's definitely at-bats to be had even when Adames returns, which may not even be until the beginning of the next roadtrip with how cautious they are being with our injured players. We need to be giving guys like Turang opportunities at this point, because the alternative is a dangerously thin roster and more at-bats for the likes of Cain, Reyes, etc.
