Jackson Chourio Wins Minor League Gold Glove Award

I'm going to be perfectly honest: I don't believe Chourio is a gold glove OF'er. He's solid, yes. But having watched him live, literally all season, he never really popped for me but say a few surprising occasions. From my vantage point, he is certainly nowhere near the overall defensive OF players of the Brewers very own Garrett Mitchell or Joey Wiemer - honestly, it really isn't even all that close in this regard. What Chourio has demonstrated at a very young age is an ability to read the ball off the bat. He typically makes the right read and makes the right first step. But, his arm is quite average at best and his range isn't a level beyond other CF'ers from my vantage point.

And, this being said, who cares what I think. It's a hell of an achievement for an 18 yo. And it brings further attention to the Brewers. Congratulations to Jackson for an incredible recognition!
