I come back from dinner, and the game thread has once again descended into a referendum on Yelich....

Honestly, its just one person.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Yelich with a birdie on 18 to bring him back out tomorrow.

That now makes him 1 for 4 for a .250 batting average.

Steele completely shut down the Brewers offense and Montgomery is well on his way to doing the same thing. They did get to Peterson.

Until shown otherwise, though, lefty starters continue to look like a weak spot for the Brewers offense.

Not saying we're world-beaters against lefties, but they also lit up David Peterson on Wednesday...

111 wRC+ is far from mediocre. It's actually 11% better than average.

I was responding to the .250 batting average … in my opinion, that is mediocre - especially for someone battling first or third every day

I remember being at a game opening weekend in 2019 and a Cardinal fan sitting near us was complaining about the Cardinals acquiring Goldschmidt because they already had a good young one who wouldn’t cost anywhere near as much.

He was talking about Luke Voit.

I wonder if that guy still thinks Goldschmidt was a bad acquisition.

Actually, that's very polite. What do you think that word means?

It is not your job to make suggestions to me regarding how I feel about a player & tell me to get perspective … that’s rude no matter how kind the delivery … it’s not your place - period

Yes, I mentioned that.

.250 was above league average and no clue why you are ignoring his OBP because that's far more important as a leadoff hitter than his BA. His .355 OBP was 28th out of 130 qualified hitters...real mediocre.

Yeah, only game 8, but I'm growing pretty weary of Voit. Might want to start thinking about bringing up Toro, or even Frelick...

Toro sucks at hitting too.

Batting average is virtually meaningless. OBP is most relevant judging for whether someone should be batting at the top of the order. And Yelich has led the team in OBP every year he's been on the roster...

He at least bats lefty and is versatile defensively. Frelick would be the option if we want a 4th true OF, but I would be far more hesitant to go there with his at-bats likely being limited...
