Such an interesting story as well. Didn't he go to BYU and then did a multi-year mission or something? He only threw 73 innings in his college career.

We will always learn something within each and every archived interview. It's why we link to all the audio offered by all four affiliates (am aware the volume of samples within each affiliate varies).

One darkish cloud out of the Biloxi game. Freddy Zamora, again playing second base as has been the case as of late), exited after the 4th inning.

Zamora was the baserunner at first base when SS Ethan Murray grounded into a tailor-made 6-4-3 double play. It was so routine that Zamora slid about 3/4 of the way to the second base bag to avoid the throw. Zamora then exits without apparent issue but didn't return. It puzzled Voice of the Shuckers Javik Blake when the top of the 6th began as well. Not sure if anything was announced later in the broadcast. For MiLB.TV subscribers, go to the 02:01:40 mark here.

Sorry everyone, no formal full Link Report Sunday AM.

Invested two hours in my barely air-conditioned den this AM, and somehow my browser and the normally very-recoverable Brewer Fanatic interface has failed me, losing a lot of my efforts.

Looks like I can salvage two of the seven games, detailed below.

Here's the full scoreboard with all the boxes and logs.

Box Score / Game Log

In a game that was available for all to stream live for free, RHP Jacob Misiorowski showed that skyrocketing notoriety isn't linear. His performance was OK, as the line in the box shows. In his four innings, 76 pitches (42 strikes), plenty of activity on the bases, mix in a wild pitch. Yet when needed, Misiorowski could conjure up a K (or two), as he did in the 2nd inning with men on 1st and 3rd with one out. It was a perfectly fine development appearance, as we slow down the expectation train coming off that Futures Game inning for the ages.

July 6th was SS/3B Eduardo Garcia's most recent appearance, still avoiding for now a formal injured list stint.

We should send kudos to the RH bullpen arms of birthday boy Miguel Guerrero (23), Shane Smith and Tanner Shears.

Three walks in addition to the HR for 1B Ernesto Martinez, who turned 24 in June. Will be interesting to see if the Brewers offer to bring the minor league free-agent-to-be back for year eight in the system (includes the lost Covid season). Check out his monthly splits for June and July.

Final: Myrtle Beach (Cubs) 6, Carolina 5

Areinamo Homers in 6-5 Loss in Myrtle Beach - The Mudcats snapped a four-game win streak with Saturday's loss to the Pelicans

Pre-Game Media Notes

Box Score / Game Log

That's a bummer of a loss, given the way the club battled back, down to their last strike in the top of the 9th (good job culling from the road game video feed):

It also hurts given the Mudcats gave away three 7th inning runs on two critical errors.

This was the first thing I thought of as it happened. Thanks, Spencer, for doing the side-by-side. To watch the first of the respective blasts in video form, click here.

More Carolina highlights via the club's Twitter Media feed.

Mudcats lost despite being 5-for-5 in SB attempts, check that portion of the box for some surprisingly high individual totals. Kay-Lan Nicasio is 20-for-25 on the season, Luke Adams 22-for-29.

From Nashville’s 8-1 loss at Louisville, you might not expect that RHP Janson Junk had a decent game: 6 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 6 H, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 4 Ks.

As for players hoping for a call-up, only 1B Abraham Toro helped his cause: 2-for-2, 2 walks.

None of Frelick, Jones, Hiura, Urias, Bukauskas or Megill achieved much.

The recent RBI Baseball numbers being put up in the ACL make it difficult to know what to think of all the 1.000-level OPS’.

16 hits in their 10-8 loss to ACL Royals means the ACL Brewers have produced 25 runs and 36 hits in their last 2 games. Of course, they’ve also conceded 26 runs on 24 hits in the 2 games.

Each of CF Reidy Mercado, rehabbing SS Daniel Guilarte and DH/C Satchell Norman reached base 4 times, all they all await the call to (or back to, in Guilarte’s case) Low-A Carolina.
