What is his injury?

I love his bat

We don’t know, unfortunately. He was substituted mid-game after a groundout on August 15. I’m hoping the 60-day placement is some sort of MILB roster manipulation, but it usually signifies something more serious. I’m guessing we won’t see him until some single-day MLB Spring Training call-ups.

I know you said you not in favor of dfa “ just yet” but in reality it’s not even remotely in the possibility of happening.

They liked his stuff enough to trade for him a month ago…….there is no chance of that happening this year.

Now the phantom injury could be interesting but I’ve always thought fans believe this happens far more frequently than it actually does………Milner situation more the exception to the rule……assuming that is what is going on now.

Mears looks the part of a twice DFA’d journeyman with a 6 ERA

I believe we have better pitchers available for the stretch run

I would like to see him replace Mears on the major league roster

I’m not in favor of a DFA for Mears just yet (too soon), but maybe a mystery IL appearance like Milner would do the trick

Unless I’m missing something, I’d expect Paredes will make several more rehab appearances, then be added in the first week of September. The Brewers have 10 games in 9 days coming up (Aug 27 - Sep 4), so DL Hall will be needed. Rosters expand (1 more hitter, 1 more pitcher) on Sep 1.

I'll post this again, as I did a couple of weeks back in this very thread. I have the ability to move posts as well, but it's just a constant monitoring that's difficult to keep up with. This thread shouldn't be 23 pages long.

While we appreciate the enthusiasm, it's preferred if the Transaction Thread is limited to the actual transaction moves.

There are multiple other threads where discussion points can be posted, from the current prospect voting results thread, the Midseason Prospect Rankings thread, to the "Your _____ Team Threads":

Nashville
Biloxi
Wisconsin
Carolina
Maryvale

Thanks, we know it won't be perfectly maintained going forward, but your consideration will help. All the threads linked above can currently be found on Page One or Two of the Minor League Forum, so each has been updated recently.

Anyone have any insight as to why Blake Burke hasn't played since August 17th?

My apologies

I did not intend to post in the wrong forum thread

I was about to post something in the Blake Burke injury thread, but it looks like this might be the better spot.

Is there a page on the site that references forum etiquette? Not in terms of swearing/trolling or whatever, but in how the mods would prefer we use the forums or threads? It's clear some of us have been irritating some of the mods with threads/posts that they believe are redundant or are needless clutter.

I guess I feel like if mods don't want us posting in certain threads, just lock them to mods only. We can find other threads to innocently inquire about transactions or injury updates.

Don't sweat it. I'll do a better job of moving posts around in the future. It's really not all that many, it was just this specific thread. (By the way, how many readers saw there was a new post in the transaction thread, came over, and saw only your post above as new?) Kind of what I'm talking about. Not easy to police and not the end of the world.

Maybe this isn't the proper place to post this, but to our minor league gurus, why on earth hasn't Adams played since August 17th, Pratt since August 23rd, and Tayden Hall since August 24th?

None are on the IL, all 3 have been taking batting practice and field drills, yet completely absent from the line-up since the dates I have mentioned.

I was standing next to a guy who asked Adams if he was playing tonight (That was Friday) and Luke said hopefully tomorrow.  Nope, he didn't play Saturday or today (Sunday)

Seems strange all 3 would be resting before the play-offs rather than getting at bats in...Rumor was going around that a virus or sickness was going through the clubhouse at one point, but all players have been visibly interacting with their teammates on the field in pre-game warm-ups and in the dugout during the games this week.

It's odd, that I have seen nothing, anyplace, as to why they are all not playing.
