Hey, @Spencer Michaelis, you mentioned on the last podcast that Made was considered the top DSL prospect. Did you mean league-wide, or just for the Brewers?

That was league wide. There are a few other names who get thrown out there with him, but Made and Pena have both been pretty universally called Top 5 and I've seen some people call them the top 2.

Such a long way for those guys to go, but the early returns could not be better.

How long until Made and Pena break the Brewers top 10? Or top 5?  Pretty crazy stuff considering they are both just barely 17 years old.

For me personally, I really try my best to wait for these guys to get stateside before I go too crazy with the rankings. However, I think there's a good chance of both of them starting in Carolina next year, and if they show out there for a month or two, top 5 could happen very quickly.

Obviously year to year variations are pretty big, but the current top-4 (Pena, Made, Anderson, Ortuno) are among the highest (Made/Pena are the highest) OPS and wRC+ in the Brewers DSL for the past 4 seasons (Nadal last year in his second year in DSL, Ibarguen last year, and Y. Rodriguez and Chourio are in the mix).

So good comps, but Ibarguen shows that there could be exceptions.

And this year may very well be a down year in pitching or bumper crop in hitting.

Either way have 2 guys in the top 5 offensively in the league, and among the top 5 Brewers DSL seasons in the past few year is a very good sign. I am cautiously optimistic. But having 4 guys doing so well statistically, probably 2 of them work into serious prospect conversation.
