Breakdown / Highlights
The Brewers faced a tough road last week, first with a trip to New York against the Mets, who boast the best home record in baseball, and then to Miami to face a Marlins team that was red hot and had won their last four series.

In New York, the Brewers found themselves with an extra off-day, as Tuesday’s game fell victim to rain. Game one of the proceeding doubleheader the next day went to the side of Milwaukee, with Freddy Peralta twirling six strong innings, and Joey Ortiz continuing his home run binge by adding a Grand Slam. The Mets would answer the Brewers' 7-2 win with a 7-3 win of their own, getting to Jacob Misiorowski with a grand slam of their own, via Brandon Nimmo. They’d take the rubber match the next day too, spoiling José Quintana’s return to Citi Field, as David Peterson was just a bit better in a 3-2 Brewers loss.

In Miami, Milwaukee once again seized game one. Quinn Priester struggled in that one, giving up five runs through his 4 2/3 innings, but a go-ahead double from Jackson Chourio was the difference maker late, with Trevor Megill nailing down the save to win 6-5. The bullpen couldn’t hold the lead in game two the next day, as despite a solid start from Chad Patrick and plenty of opportunities offensively, a two-run eighth inning off of Nick Mears was the difference in the 4-2 loss.

Milwaukee would make it a .500 road trip the next day, and it came with Brandon Woodruff on the mound for the first time in over 650 days. It was six innings, eight strikeouts, and one run on his ledger in the return, while Jackson Chourio drove in all three runs in the 3-1 win.
