It wasn’t through the fault of Jacob Misiorowski, however, as he turned in another strong start, twirling 5 1/3 innings of two-run ball. It was the bullpen that let the contest slip, with Trevor Megill getting tagged for 3 runs and blowing the save in the 9th, and Grant Anderson coughing up a pair of runs in the 10th. That implosion wasted timely home runs from Gary Sánchez and Jake Bauers, and a game-tying hit from Brandon Lockridge in the 9th. Jake Bauers’ 3-run bomb (+19.5 WP%) Game 17 | Brewers 2, Blue Jays 1 MIL Starter: Chad Patrick (6.2 IP, 3 H, ER, 2 K) Top Performers: Aaron Ashby (1.0 IP, H, BB, 0 ER, 3 K) Abner Uribe (1.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, K, SV) William Contreras (2 H, RBI) Wednesday was a return to form that saw the Brewers snap their skid behind Chad Patrick, turning in their (then-)longest start of the year. That took the pressure off the bullpen, which put up a zero behind Patrick, while the offense used their signature death-by-paper cuts approach to plate two runs in the eighth inning. Finally, the Brewers were back to their winning ways. William Contreras' game-tying single (+30.0 WP%) Game 18 | Brewers 2, Blue Jays 1 MIL Starter: Brandon Sporat (6.2 IP, 4 H, BB, ER, 6 K) Top Performers: Trevor Megill (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 K) Gary Sánchez (2 H, BB, 2B) The rubber match mirrored the previous day, with Brandon Sproat turning in his best outing as a Brewer and, like Patrick, turning in the longest start of the Brewers' young season. On the offensive side, the Brewers took small ball to the extreme, using a walk and three consecutive bunts to score all the runs they needed before Ángel Zerpa shut the Jays down in the 9th. Milwaukee plays small ball (again) Game 19 | Brewers 7, Marlins 5 MIL Starter: Coleman Crow (5.1 IP, 4 H, BB, 2 ER, 4 K) Top Performers: Luis Rengifo (2 H, 2B, RBI) Garrett Mitchell (2 H, 2B, 3 RBI) Gary Sánchez (H, 3 BB) Coleman Crow earned his first major-league start, though the minor maladies of Kyle Harrison paved the way for it. Under the Miami sun, Crow turned in exactly what Pat Murphy and the Brewers were looking for. There were some bullpen struggles behind him, though, with a late Marlins rally sending the game to extra innings. Fortunately, some timely poor defense from Miami and a Garrett Mitchell knockout punch put the game away. Garrett Mitchell knocks in a pair of runners Game 20 | Brewers 5, Marlins 2 MIL Starter: Brandon Woodruff (7.0 IP, 3 H, BB, ER, 4 K) Top Performers: Brice Turang (2 H, 2 BB, 3 RBI) Garett Mitchell (H, 3 BB) Joey Ortiz (H, 2 BB) Saturday's contest was as smooth a game as the Brewers have had in some time, with an efficient Brandon Woodruff being the first Brewer to complete seven innings all season. With the bats, Brice Turang led the way with a 2-run home run, while the rest of the team drew six walks against the usually pinpoint former Cy-young award winner Sandy Alcantara. Brice Turang’s two-run homer (+20.6 WP%) Game 21 | Marlins 5, Brewers 3 MIL Starter: Jacob Misiorowski (5.0 IP, 4 H, 3 BB, 3 R, 1 ER, 9 K) Top Performers: Carlos Rodriguez (2.0 IP, 2 H, O ER, 3 K) Gary Sánchez (H, 2 RBI) Jacob Misiorowski's rough start in the series finale looked like it was all the Marlins were going to need to avoid a sweep, as a 3-run first inning was more than enough cushion for Marlins hurler Eury Pérez, who tossed six innings of one-run ball against the Brewers' lineup. Misiorowski did manage to labor through five innings, though, striking out nine Fish along the way, and that set the stage for the Brewers to make the game interesting late—although the comeback did eventually fall short. Miz's nine K's Transactions: 04/18/26 - Optioned RHP Coleman Crow to AAA Nashville. 04/18/26 - Recalled RHP Carlos Rodriguez from AAA Nashville. 04/17/26 - Recalled RHP Coleman Crow from AAA Nashville Sounds. 04/17/26 - Optioned RHP Easton McGee to AAA Nashville. 4/15/26 - Traded RHP Junior Fernández to Milwaukee Brewers. 04/14/26 - Placed LHP Rob Zastryzny on the 60-day injured list with a left shoulder strain. 04/14/26 - Placed LF Christian Yelich on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain. Behind all that drama, it was Brandon Woodruff who took the ball and labored through 5 2/3 innings in game one, although at the end of the night, it was Garett Mitchell and the pesky Brewers' offense who broke through late to pick Woody up. Garett Mitchell’s go-ahead knock Game 11 | Red Sox 3, Brewers 2 MIL Starter: Jacob Misiorowski (5.1 IP, 2 H, 4 BB, 3 ER, 10 K) Top Performers: DL Hall (2.1 IP, H, BB, 0 ER, K) Gary Sánchez (H, BB) Tuesday’s contest saw Jacob Misiorowski earn his third start of the young season, and for Misiorowski, it was two different tales smashed into one. The first five innings of the game were flat-out dominant, as the young righty recorded 10 strikeouts and kept Boston off the scoreboard. In the sixth, though, he lost all command. Misiorowski only recorded one out, walked three, and left the game only to see all three of those runners come around to score. That would be all Boston needed, as behind the Miz, things didn’t fare much better. Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet quieted the Brewers' offense, twirling 6.1 innings of two-run ball. Misiorowski’s 10 K’s Game 12 | Red Sox 5, Brewers 0 MIL Starter: Shane Drohan (2.2 IP, 3 H, 4 BB, 3 ER, 2 K) Top Performers: Grant Anderson (1.1 IP, 0 H, 2 BB, 0 ER, K) Aaron Ashby (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 K) The offense stayed cold for Wednesday’s rubber match, as another old foe in Sonny Gray shut down the Milwaukee offense. That spoiled the major league debut of Shane Drohan, who, after two solid innings, found himself in a similar situation as Misiorowski the night before; walking multiple batters and exiting the game without finishing the inning he started. Garett Mitchell’s tumbling grab Game 13 | Nationals 7, Brewers 3 MIL Starter: Aaron Ashby (2.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 4 K) Top Performers: Jake Bauers (2 H, BB, HR, 3 RBI) Aaron Ashby and Chad Patrick were the opener/bulk pairing for the Brewers in the series opener against Washington, a move that saw Ashby surrender two early runs and Patrick twirl three scoreless innings behind him. It seemed as if the ploy for Pat Murphy had worked, but a late implosion at the hands of Trevor Megill blew what was a small lead from a struggling offense. Jake Bauers’ 3-run home run (+26.5 WPA%) Game 14 | Nationals 3, Brewers 1 MIL Starter: Kyle Harrison (4.1 IP, 4 H, BB, 2 ER, K) Top Performers: William Contreras (H, HR, RBI) The Brewer bats remained cold into the weekend, as Nat’s starter Foster Griffin allowed just one hit in his stringent effort against the Crew, while Milwaukee starter Kyle Harrison battled through an early injury scare in his 4.1 innings of work. Unfortunately, his gutsy outing wasn’t rewarded, as it wasn’t until the 9th inning that the Brewers managed to scrape across a run, and by then, their last rally fell short. William Contreras’ solo homer (+5.2 WP%) Game 15 | Nationals 8, Brewers 6 MIL Starter: Brandon Woodruff (6.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 6 K) Top Performers: Brice Turang (3 H, BB, 2 HR, 2 RBI) Gary Sánchez (H, HR, 3 RBI) Jake Bauers (2 H, HR, RBI) It was the bullpen's turn to spoil a win in Milwaukee, as on Sunday, a quality start from Brandon Woodruff was squandered by the pesky Nationals, scoring six runs late. On the offensive side, there were some signs of life, though, as Brice Turang recorded the Brewers' first multi-homer game of the season, and both Gary Sanchez and Jake Bauers went deep as well. Turang's second homer of the day (+15.0 WP%) Transactions: 04/10/26 - Recalled RHP Easton McGee from AAA Nashville. 04/09/26 - Signed free agent RHP Reiss Knehr to a minor league contract. 04/09/26 - Optioned LHP Shane Drohan to AAA Nashville. 04/08/26 - Traded RF Steward Berroa to Philadelphia Phillies for cash. 04/06/26 - Placed LHP Jared Koenig on the 15-day injured list with a left elbow sprain. (Retroactive to April 5, 2026) 04/06/26 - Recalled LHP Shane Drohan from AAA Nashville. Notes Christian Yelich left Sunday’s game with left hamstring tightness. His status for the future is currently unknown, although manager Pat Murphy was not optimistic about Yelich avoiding an injury. Both Brand Sproat and Kyle Harrison were being evaluated for Knee injuries after Saturday's game; however, it seems both have avoided any major injury. Weekly Snapshot: Record Last Week: 1-5 (Overall: 8-7) Run Scored Last Week: 20 Runs Surrendered Last Week: 32 Standing: 4th in NL Central *** Game 10 (4/6) | MIL 8, BOS 6 Game 11 (4/7) | BOS 3, MIL 2 Game 12 (4/8) | BOS 5, MIL 0 Game 13 (4/10) | WSN 7, MIL 3 Game 14 (4/11) | WSN 3, MIL 1 Game 15 (4/12) | WSN 8, MIL 6 *** Game 10 | Brewers 8, Red Sox 6 MIL Starter: Brandon Woodruff (5.2 IP, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) Top Performers: Christian Yelich (3 H, BB, 2B, RBI) Garett Mitchell (2 H, 2 RBI) Sal Frelick (2 H, BB, RBI) It was a dramatic kickoff to the week for the Brewers, as a rare trip to Boston saw a reignition of an old feud with Wilson Contreras. His offense couldn’t muster much against old NL Central foe Nick Martinez, however, as a 2-run home run off the bat of William Contreras was the only runs Milwaukee could scrape across against a stringent Rays staff, while the Brewers bullpen found their first hiccup of the young season, as Trevor Megill was charged with the loss by surrendering the go-ahead run in the 9th. William Contreras’ two-run home run (+23.6 WP%) Game 5 | Brewers 6, Rays 2 MIL Starter: Brandon Woodruff (5.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 6 K) Top Performers: Gary Sánchez (H, BB, HR, RBI) Jake Bauers (2 H, HR, RBI) Brandon Lockridge (2 H, 2B, RBI) Game two of the series against Tampa Bay saw a marquee pitching matchup between Brandon Woodruff and Shane McClanahan. Luckily for the Brewers, it was Woody who got the better of his counterpart, tossing five innings of two-run ball. On the other side, McClanahan was effective through four innings, but a three-run fifth from the Milwaukee offense chased him from the game. They’d add two more runs in the next innings, as well as one in the eighth, and the bullpen put up a zero behind Brandon Woodruff to secure a 6-2 Milwaukee win. Gary Sánchez's solo home run (+11.9 WP%) Game 6 | Brewers 8, Rays 2 MIL Starter: Jacob Misiorowski (6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K) Top Performers: Brice Turang (H, BB, HR 2 RBI) Christian Yelich (2 H, 2 RBI) Garrett Mitchell (2 H, 2B, 2 RBI) Jacob Misiorowski took the mound for his second start of the season and did little more than pick up where he left off on Opening Day. The Miz provided six innings of two-run ball for the Crew, and while it wasn’t until the eighth inning that the Brewers' bats finally broke through for their first big inning of the series, the six-run explosion off Griffin Jax was more than enough to propel Milwaukee to its second straight series win. Brice Turang’s two-run home run (+18.1 WP%) Game 7 | Brewers 5, Royals 2 MIL Starter: Chad Patrick (4.0 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 3 K) Top Performers: Garrett Mitchell (2 H, 2B, HR, 5 RBI) Abner Uribe (1.1 IP, 0 ER, K) Trevor Megill (1.0 IP, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, SV) While it was Chad Patrick who ended his day with a scoreless outing, Garrett Mitchell stole the show in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader by knocking in a career-high five runs. Both came early into the game, with a two-run double in the 1st, and a three-run home run in the 3rd. It would be all the offense the Brewers needed, as then, the backend of the ‘pen closed the daycap out. Garett Mitchell’s Five RBI Game 8 | Royals 8, Brewers 2 MIL Starter: Logan Henderson (2.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, BB, 3 K) Top Performers: Brice Turang (H, 3B, RBI) Garett Mitchell (H, 2B, RBI) DL Hall (2.0 IP, 0 ER, H, BB, 2 K) The Saturday nightcap saw the Royals even the series by getting to a pair of young Brewers pitchers, with both Logan Henderson and his piggyback Brandon Sporat surrendering multiple runs. On the offensive side, the Kansas City trio of Seth Lugo, Nick Mears, and Eli Morgan kept the Brewers bats to just two runs on five hits, and used a six-run sixth inning to send the series to a Sunday rubber match. Gary Sánchez throws out Maikel Garcia Game 9 | Brewers 8, Royals 5 MIL Starter: Kyle Harrison (5.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K) Top Performers: William Contreras (2 H, 2B, 2 BB, 2 RBI) Gary Sánchez (H, HR, RBI) Christian Yelich (2 H, 2B, 3B, RBI) Sunday's rubber match in Kansas City featured Kyle Harrison's second consecutive quality start in a Brewer uniform, as the Brewer hurler tossed 5.1 innings of two-run ball. Meanwhile, Gary Sánchez popped his team-leading third home run of the year, and William Contreras reached base safely four times in a six-run effort, while the bullpen navigated some late-inning trouble to close out the series against the Royals 8-5. Gary Sánchez's two-run homer (+15.4 WP%) Transactions: 04/05/26 - Optioned RHP Logan Henderson to AAA Nashville Sounds. 04/04/26 - Recalled RHP Logan Henderson from Nashville Sounds. 04/04/26 - LHP Sammy Peralta was claimed off waivers by the Colorado Rockies. 04/03/26 - Designated RF Steward Berroa for assignment. 04/03/26 - Selected the contract of SS Cooper Pratt from AAA Nashville. 04/03/26 - Optioned SS Cooper Pratt to Nashville Sounds. 03/31/26 - Activated RF Luis Matos. 03/31/26 - Sent LHP Rob Zastryzny on a rehab assignment to AAA Nashville 03/31/26 - Optioned C Jeferson Quero to AAA Nashville. 03/30/26 - Designated LHP Sammy Peralta for assignment. 03/30/26 - Acquired RF Luis Matos from the San Francisco Giants for cash. Notes: RHP Logan Henderson served as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader. It was reported early last week that SS Cooper Pratt is set to sign a $50.75 million extension. You can read more about the potential deal here. RF Sal Frelick left game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader with left side tightness. His 11 punchouts of White Sox hitters set a new franchise watermark for strikeouts on Opening Day, while the team behind him lit up the scoresheet by tallying 12 hits and drawing 10 walks in a 14-run outburst. On the offensive side, the Brewers played small ball, tallying up 12 more hits, with only two going for extra bases, and stealing 7 bases. Garrett Mitchell’s 2-run single (+8.7 WP%) Game 3 | Brewers 9, White Sox 7 MIL Starter: Brandon Sproat (3.0 IP, 6 H, 3 BB, 7 ER, 3 K) Top Performers: Christian Yelich (H, HR, 3 RBI) Gary Sánchez (2 H, HR, 2 RBI) Brewers Bullpen (Combined: 6.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 9 K) Sunday's series finale against the South Siders didn't have the start the Brewers might've imagined, with White Sox SS Colson Montgomery rudely greeting Milwaukee starter Brandon Sproat with a first-inning grand slam. Sproat never recovered, allowing three more runs and finishing his day with just three innings of work, exiting with the Sox up 7-2. The Brewers bullpen held the game there, though, and finally, in the eighth, the Brewers broke through. An RBI single from Brice Turang brought the game within three, and shortly after, Luis Rengifo's first Brewers hit brought the game within one. Sensing the moment, skipper Pat Murphy summoned Christian Yelich to pinch hit, who responded with a go-ahead three-run homer to cap the six-run 8th, and put Milwaukee up for good. Trevor Megill then capped the excellent day for the bullpen with a save in the 9th, and with that, the Brewers wrapped up their opening weekend with a sweep of the White Sox. Breakdown / Highlights To say the Brewers coasted into October would be putting it lightly. Their own manager even admitted to “trying things,” so across from two teams playing for more than themselves, Milwaukee floundered a bit heading into the postseason. It all started in San Diego, with an 11-inning loss on Monday. Freddy Peralta was on the mound for the Brewers, pitching five strong innings, surrendering two runs, and striking out six. A collection of six relievers followed, leading up to Grant Anderson’s 11th inning, where San Diego finally walked it off. If the offense was quiet in game one, game two saw the group go silent. Bruce Zimmerman was tasked with making an emergency start, of sorts, and was a victim of a hot Padres offense early. Ryan O’Hearn hit a first-inning grand slam off the veteran, and the Friars added two more runs in the second before he settled in and gave the Crew six innings. On the other side, Randy Vásquez tossed 7 scoreless innings, giving up only a single Brewers hit. The bullpens on both sides gave up a few hits after the starters exited, but nothing much changed, leading to a 7-0 Padres win. The Brewers salvaged a game on Wednesday, behind a game pieced together by Chad Patrick and the bullpen. Patrick twirled three brilliant innings, striking out six and putting up a zero, while Erick Fedde followed in long relief, throwing 2 2/3 innings and surrendering the sole Padres run. The trio of Nick Mears, Jared Koenig, and Abner Uribe would close the game, following a go-ahead 7th-inning single from Brice Turang. Danny Jansen added a solo homer in the 9th for insurance, and Milwaukee won 3-1. Last week may not have been pretty, but ending on a high note bodes well for the future to come. For the final home series of the regular year, Milwaukee was up against a Reds team playing for the final Wild Card slot, and it showed. With the 1-seed officially being wrapped up with a Phillies loss before Saturday’s game concluded, there was nothing to play for. Perhaps most noteworthy was some continued offensive mediocrity, or the Robert Gasser/Jacob Misorowski duo getting blown up on Saturday. The final game of the season ended as it started, with Freddy Peratla on the mound. Despite two solo home runs, a mini-breakthrough for the offense in the 4th inning put the Brewers ahead for good. With the win, the 2025 Brewers are now the franchise's winningest team. Looking Ahead: October 4, 2025 – Brewers vs. TBD* – Game 1 (NLDS) October 6, 2025 – Brewers vs. TBD* – Game 2 (NLDS) October 8, 2025 – Brewers @ TBD* – Game 3 (NLDS) October 9, 2025 – Brewers @ TBD* – Game 4 if necessary (NLDS) October 11, 2025 – Brewers vs. TBD* – Game 5 if necessary (NLDS) *Winner of SDP/CHC Wild Card Series

Already eliminated from playoff contention, Los Angeles played like they weren’t playing for much. They’d muster only two runs in each of the three games, while Milwaukee scored nine twice, and five in the final. Andrew Vaughn and Jake Bauers both had great series in that one, and Freddy Peralta, Quinn Pirester, and Brandon Woodruff picked up wins. On to St. Louis with a dwindling magic number, the Cubs took care of business for the Brewers, who only managed to win one of the games. Meanwhile, Chicago was swept at the hands of Cincinnati, so despite a loss on Sunday, the Brewers celebrated their 3rd straight NL division title in St. Louis. Breakdown / Highlights Milwaukee kicked off their week by heading to the Lone Star State to take on the Rangers. Jose Quintana took the mound for game one across from Texas starter Jacob Latz, who proceeded to outduel the Brewers’ veteran lefty. In fact, the Brewers offense was unable to scrape anything across the Rangers staff in general, while a four-run fourth inning off of Quintana gave the AL Wild Card hopefuls all they needed to take the series opener. Chad Patrick was asked to be the stopper in game two, but once again, Texas found a way to keep their train rolling. That came despite Milwaukee chasing Jack Leiter in the fifth inning and a late home run from Jake Bauers, resulting in a Brewers loss, 5-4. For the first time since opening weekend, the Brewers were swept in a series on Wednesday. Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio went back-to-back off Merrill Kelly to start the game, but Rangers first baseman Jake Burger taxed Freddy Peralta with two homers of his own, so despite out-hitting the Rangers 11 to 6, Milwaukee fell 6-3. A more familiar foe (the desperate and fading Cardinals) came to town for a three-game set to finish the week, and they were welcomed rudely by a Brewers team looking to bounce back. Naturally, stopper Quinn Priester toed the slab to record another win in that one; the final was 8-2. Heading into the game on Saturday, the Brewers received the news that they'd clinched a playoff spot. With that in mind, a thriller took place in front of a national audience, as Milwaukee was determined to celebrate with a win. Early on, though, Sonny Gray and the Cardinals had the Brewers' number. They jumped out to an early 6-1 lead, but as they've done all season, Murph's Marauders started pecking away. Eventually, the comeback was completed in the 9th, as the Brewers scored three to tie the game. Despite the team giving up another run in the 10th, Andruw Monasterio was the hero, driving in Caleb Durbin to win the game after Durbin himself had tied it. On Sunday, the Cards once again jumped out to an early lead. Quintana would settle in, though, and once again, Milwaukee began to pick away at a lead. Solo homers from Durbin and Danny Jansen got Milwaukee within one. This time, the Cardinals' bullpen held, though, and the Brewers lost 3-2. Breakdown / Highlights Monday marked the final game before Milwaukee had its first scheduled off day in over two weeks, but it also began a series between two of the best teams in the National League. It was the Phillies that were swept at the hands of the Brewers the last time the two teams met, and on Labor Day, they knocked off the Crew for the first time. It was a slugfest, as despite an early 5-0 Milwaukee lead, the Phils stormed back for a 10-8 win after beating up on the Brewers' pen. After the much-needed rest day on Tuesday, the Brewers evened the series. Jose Quintana turned in another efficient start in Brewers blue, hurling 6.1 innings and allowing 3 runs. That was enough for the Brewer offense, which plated five runners in the first with recording an out. Philadelphia then won the penultimate game on Thursday, getting shut down by Ranger Suarez and the Phillies' bullpen. The final score in that game was 2-0. Onto Pittsburgh, the Brewers found themselves with Quinn Priester toeing the slab for game one. And like they’ve done in his past 17 appearances, Milwaukee found a way to win. Jake Bauers drove in the 2 runs for the lead in the sixth, and some insurance late in the game led to a 5-2 final. The Brewers captured the series on Saturday, as once again Jake Bauers provided a 2-run spark, this time with a homer. Jackson Chourio added a 2-run blast of his own, and on the pitching side, Brandoon Woodruff dazzled. Woody went six innings of scoreless baseball, striking out eight and picking up the win. On Sunday, two highly hyped pitching prospects dueled. The Miz, naturally, was on the bump for the Brewers, while Bubba Chandler took the mound for the Pirates. Unfortunately for Chandler, an offensive explosion happened in front of him. Milwaukee teed off on the young pitcher, tallying 10 runs in the 10-2 victory. Breakdown / Highlights Brandon Woodruff took the mound for game one against the Diamondbacks on Monday, and despite a masterful first five innings, the game unraveled on him in the sixth. Five runs would come across and score, capped by a three-run homer from Lourdes Gurriel Jr., but luckily, Milwaukee’s offense had been able to come up with a five-run inning of their own in the third. The difference ended up being a solo homer from Andruw Monasterio to score the sixth run, while Caleb Durbin added crucial insurance on his own home run in the eighth. Milwaukee would take the first game, 7-5. Another high-scoring affair followed on Tuesday. Once again, Milwaukee jumped out to an early 6-0 lead. Jacob Misiorowski was efficient through his five innings, allowing three runs and striking out 10, but Tobias Myers was unable to follow out of the bullpen, surrendering three runs of his own in 1 2/3 innings of work. Milwaukee’s offense kept adding on, with a crucial homer from Brice Turang pushing the cushion to 8-3 in the sixth, such that the Arizona comeback only knotted things. It would take a walk-off from Issac Collins in the ninth to score the deciding run, as a sac fly would secure the series split for the Brewers. Games three and four would see perpetual frustration for the Milwaukee offense. The Brewers would record 10 hits in both games but score only six runs, losing the games by 3-2 and 6-4, respectively. Jose Quintana and newly signed pitcher Erick Fedde were saddled with the losses in those games. A trip north of the border to face the AL’s top team followed the tough split, and the NL’s best responded in kind. With Freddy Peralta on the mound, the Milwaukee ace capped off a dominant month of August by hurling six innings of no-run, one-hit ball, striking out eight. With the bats, the Brewers were able to scrape across two runs against Shane Bieber before adding five more against the Jays' bullpen. After 9 innings, the scoreboard read 7-2 in favor of the Brewers. A tighter game followed to open the weekend, with the Brewers handing the ball to Quinn Priester. And like they’ve done for his past 16 appearances, the Brewers found a way to win. With the game knotted at 1-1 heading into the 9th, the returning Jackson Chourio went deep to take the lead, and one pitch later, Christian Yelich doubled it with a homer of his own. The boos rained down in Toronto, and at the end of the day, it was Milwaukee capturing the series of the heavyweights with a 4-1 win. Toronto would take game three, as for the second time in the week, Brandon Woodruff and the Brewers weren't able to scrape enough runs across the board, despite tallying 13 hits. The final on Sunday read 8-4. Nonetheless, it was a good week for the National League's presumptive top seed, with four more weeks left before the playoffs begin. Breakdown / Highlights Milwaukee began its busiest week of the year in Chicago, playing five games with the Cubs in four days. The Brewers took game one at Wrigley behind six scoreless innings from Freddy Peralta and homers from Caleb Durbin and Brice Turang, winning 7-0. Rain then moved the scheduled doubleheader to the next day. A returning Chad Patrick was unable to keep the Cubs offense in check in the first game of that delayed twinbill, with Milwaukee trailing 5-0 early. They’d claw to within one run, but the Comeback Crew was unable to mount another miraculous comeback, eventually falling 6-4. The nightcap, too, tipped toward the Cubs, as Milwaukee's offense went quiet behind Brandon Woodruff and Aaron Ashby. They fell 4-1 in that game, despite a fairly large number of offensive opportunities. Chicago then captured the series the next day, chasing Jacob Misorowski from the game after four innings, even while former Brewer Colin Rea struggled in a similar fashion through five. The Brewers left the bases loaded in the ninth, unable to find the tying run, and lost 4-3. Luckily, the Brewers would salvage a win the next day, picking up another win behind Quinn Priester, powered by a two-run homer from Brice Turang and a late two-run double from newly minted Dad™️ Isaac Collins. Back at home, the Brewers set their eyes on a series with the Giants, and celebrating the late, great Bob Uecker. Milwaukee took game one, despite homecoming Willy Adames slugging two home runs against his old club. The drama also included an uncharacteristic blown save from Trevor Megill, but he was picked up by William Contreras, who sent the fans home happy with his first career walk-off home run in the 9th. San Francisco raced back on Saturday, chasing Freddy Peralta after five innings of scoreless ball, proceeding to tally seven runs off of a taxed Brewers bullpen. On the other side, Milwaukee’s offense could only muster an RBI double from Caleb Durbin, and the Brewers fell 7-1, being handed their largest margin of defeat since July 30. The day of celebration on Sunday followed, and despite a touching ceremony in honor of Bob Uecker, the afternoon would end in heartbreaking defeat. Chad Patrick was solid in his second start since returning to the club, but Trevor Megill’s second consecutive blown save sank Milwaukee's hopes in the 9th, falling 4-3. Breakdown / Highlights Riding a nine-game winning streak heading into the series with Pittsburgh, there was one thing on the minds of all Brewers fans. Hamburgers, from George Webb. Hearing those cries, or maybe looking for redemption from the last 11-game streak, the Brewers handled the Pirates comfortably. They’d score 33 runs across the 3-game set, including a 14-0 victory in a game started by Paul Skenes. In the series in Cincinnati, the Brewers pushed for history. Game one saw Major League Baseball’s annual Players Weekend kickoff, and early on, it looked like the winning ways had been kicked behind Milwaukee. The Reds jumped all over Jacob Misiorowski and DL Hall and led 8-1 after two innings. Nobody told the Brewers, though, as with the help of a monster day for Yelich and the Reds' defense, Milwaukee stormed back. They’d score nine unanswered runs and send the remaining 23 Reds down in order. You might’ve heard the term ‘Uecker magic’ being thrown around the past week, and on Friday, Christian Yelich’s 4-4, two-homerun day using a bat with the late Ueck’s name scribbled across it seems like a prime example. Saturday had no shortage of magic either. Quinn Priester and Reds starter Zack Littell were entrenched in a pitcher’s duel through the first six innings before the bullpens took over. The score was 2-1 heading into the top of the ninth, and with two outs, Milwaukee tied it on an errant throw from Elly De La Cruz. Each team then scored in the 10th inning before a pinch-hit three-run homer from Andruw Monasterio in the 11th put the Brewers ahead for good. With the win, making 14 games in a row, the 2025 Brewers now owned the longest winning streak in franchise history. Aiming for fifteen straight on Sunday afternoon, Milwaukee ran into the buzzsaw of Andrew Abbott. He proved why he’s among the NL ERA leaders, twirling seven scoreless innings. Jose Quintana would match Abbott stride for stride until the seventh, but a sac fly would give the Reds the advantage. For the second straight day, it would take until the ninth; this time, a go-ahead two-run homer off the bat of William Contreras would give Milwaukee its first lead. With Trevor Megill unavailable, though, it was the tandem of Tobias Myers and Grant Anderson who were tasked with shutting the door. They'd bend, not break, as the Reds found the tying run but nothing more. So, for the second straight game, the Brewers were playing extras, and this time, they'd fall, as Grant Anderson was unable to keep the Reds off the board in the 10th as well. Breakdown / Highlights The Brewers began their week by wrapping up a six-game road trip with a three-game series in Atlanta. Quinn Priester toed the slab on Monday, and despite surrendering a leadoff home run to Jurickson Profar, Priester was nearly perfect the rest of the way, going seven innings and surrendering only 2 hits and just the single run. On the offensive side of the ball, newly minted Rookie of the Month Issac Collins provided all the runs Milwaukee needed, with a three-run homer being the difference maker in a 3-1 win. In game two, Freddy Peralta took the mound. It was a trademark start, as Peralta was dominant in a short stint, laboring through five innings, striking out seven, and surrendering only one run despite a high pitch count. With the bats, Andrew Vaughn and Isaac Collins stayed hot, driving in two runs apiece, and Milwaukee won again, 7-2. In game three, Milwaukee completed the sweep. Andrew Vaughn and Blake Perkins both went deep off of Braves starter Spencer Strider, while on the other side, Jose Quintana was efficient, twirling six innings of three-run ball and striking out a season-high seven batters. Trevor Megill would close out the game despite a Michael Harris solo shot, and Milwaukee completed a perfect road trip with a sweep. To end the week, the Brewers welcomed the slumping Mets into American Family Field. In front of the largest crowd of the season on Friday, the Brewers didn’t disappoint. A game-tying two-run homer from Brice Turang helped pick up Brandon Woodruff, who allowed two solo homers in the first two innings, before Woody settled in, getting through seven innings. The highlight, though? Undoubtedly, this electric throw from Blake Perkins to throw out the tying run at the plate in the 9th. Game two was the perfect example of who’s hot and who’s not. Tobias Myers got the nod in the game for Milwaukee, who was battling an upset stomach, struggling to keep the ball in the ballpark, and surrendering three solo shots to the Mets in his 3.1 innings. The Brewers offense picked him up, though, with the help of a couple of costly Mets errors and another home run from Brice Turang. William Contreras provided the dagger with a two-run homer to score runs six and seven, and Trevor Megill fanned both Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto in the 9th to capture the series and win 7-4. The final game of the series started with it looking like the Brewers' streak of good luck and winning ways was over. Quinn Preister struggled with his sinker command, getting tagged for ten hits and six runs, putting the Brewers down by as much as 5 early. However, Milwaukee clawed back. Joey Ortiz found himself delivering in multiple clitch situations, driving in three runs, and the game was tied heading to the 9th, thanks to some shutdown relief work from DL Hall. That gave way to Issac Collins, who hammered a pitch from Edwin Diaz over the fence to walk off the Mets, and complete their largest comeback of the year.
