Breakdown / Highlights
With Freddy Peralta toeing the slab in game one, the Brewers began their hot week with a dominant victory over the Dodgers. It was Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound for the Dodgers, and after a five-run onslaught highlighted by Andrew Vaughn’s three-run homer in his first plate appearance as a Brewer, the L.A. ace left the game having recorded only two outs. Peralta would go on to pitch six scoreless innings, and Christian Yelich capped the night with a two-run homer.

Game two tipped the way of Milwaukee, as well, with two NL All-Stars matching up in Jacob Misiorowski and Clayton Kershaw. A leadoff home run from Shohei Ohtani was all the Dodgers could muster against the Miz, as he pitched six overpowering innings, striking out 12. Abner Uribe, Jared Koenig, and Trevor Megill all followed suit, capturing the 3-1 win and a pitch tracking record of the highest average team velocity ever in an individual game.

Three runs the next day would be good enough, as the Brewers completed the sweep of the Dodgers. Tyler Glasnow and Jose Quintana both shut down their opponents' offenses, with L.A. carrying a 2-1 lead into the 9th inning. Vaughn's pinch-hit, game-tying single brought the game to extras. After a scoreless 10th inning from Trevor Megill, Jackson Chourio completed the first sweep of the Dodgers in Milwaukee in the history of the franchise.

The Nationals were in town for the weekend series, and like the mighty Dodgers, they ran into the red-hot Brewer buzzsaw. The top of Pat Murphy's batting order drove in eight runs in game one, with the DL Hall opener and Quinn Prister bulk approach handling the pitching. 

The game on Saturday was an exciting one. Brandon Woodruff made his return to the mound at The Ueck, striking out 10 in 4 1/3 innings of work. The myth of Andrew Vaughn continued, with the new guy swatting a game-tying two-run double off Kyle Finnegan in the 9th inning. Caleb Durbin added his third walk-off hit of the season with a single to win 6-5.

Milwaukee made it an undefeated week on Sunday, with Peralta winning his NL-leading 11th game on the mound, and Jackson Chourio and Brice Turang capping the first half with back-to-back homers in the eighth inning.
