The Rays lost two close games in St. Louis in their opening series, salvaging the final game on Sunday. Tampa Bay sends right-hander Nick Martinez to open the series against Milwaukee. Martinez made three appearances last year against the Brewers, including two starts with a 7.71 ERA over 9.1 IP allowing 15 H and 3 BB while striking out 5 batters.

Kyle Harrison makes his debut tonight for Milwaukee. Harrison made one start against Tampa Bay last season, 6 IP allowing 4 H, 2 BB, 1 ER while striking out 5 batters. The left-handed Harrison was a top 30 prospect in all of baseball entering the 2024 season before arriving to Milwaukee in the Caleb Durbin trade.

The Brewers broke or tied three franchise records for most stolen bases (9), walks (22 - tie) and strikeouts recorded (43) over the first three games to start a season.

Now that the glorified exhibition is over.   Let’s see what we look like against some major leaguers

It was a gentle intro to the season for sure. I'll take this over the Yankees series from now on please.

SOMEONE is going to hit higher than they usually would as long as Chourio & Vaughn are out. Hitting Rengifo 4th isn't something you'd expect, but he hits from both sides & probably won't be hit for; it pushes your need for a bench option back at least one spot.

14.2 BP innings w/one run allowed vs Chicago. Gotta love that.

There was also that crazy sequence in the 9th inning where Bauers backswing hit the catcher on a passed ball. Ortiz (I think) scored from 3B on the play but it was ruled back because of batter's interference and the Brewers ended up losing the game.

Edit: Found the play. Guccione was the HP ump and boy he was really unpopular with Brewers fans in that series.

Estimated.. but yeah. I believe they want the earlier times to encourage people to bring kids, until school gets out?
