I dont think Patrick is someone we can put much faith in.

He was never a starter.  That was obvious last year when his fastball played up in short bullpen outings where it was below average as a starter.

Sal plays the ball off the wall poorly then proceeds to throw a crap ball into Turang.  Way to follow up getting thrown out at 2nd the half inning before.  Solid.

Pitchers are allowed to have a bad outing. Don’t jump to conclusions after one bad outing this year.

His stuff is just not good enough.

At least Ortiz didn’t hit last year either. Frelick is easily the biggest disappointment on the team so far.

Bunting with 2 strikes. With Joey Ortiz on deck.

Do better.

This is what happens when your 6 through 9 hitters are guys that should either be on the bench or batting 9th

It doesn’t help either when your 3 through 5 hitters are more suited to batting sixth or seventh.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Agreed.  It’s not particularly close either.

Nobody should have been expecting Frelick to repeat or even come anywhere close to what he did last year.

0-2 to 3-2 you knew that was coming. This one might be over.

It’s OK. The offense should come alive the next two days against Skubal and Skenes.

That's the worst part about this one.

I think you’re right. He’s too small and weak to be any good but after last year I was hopeful he was going to prove us wrong

I understand that the team isn’t at full strength and therefore some of the lineup issues are really circumstantial. What I can’t stand is compounding the problem with dumb decisions like bunting with 2 strikes.

I don’t like the fact that they didn’t make any moves to improve the positions that will be black holes, even when they are at full strength.

I’ve been a strong supporter of Patrick, but he looks pretty bad tonight

Patrick tops out in the lower 90s he’s gotta hit his spots to be effective, just been missing tonight

I mean i get the power but he's a 1st round pick from college. I think he should be able to hit 280 with some doubles. He's not being productive at all.

Yeah, for the most part, the guys we expected to hit have hit, and the guys we expected to not hit have not hit. With the exception that Frelick has hit worse than expected and Sanchez has hit better than expected. It’s not that everyone is just underperforming.
