Looks like the Brewers have checked out for the night

I’m going to have to get to another game before half of them are called up.

I've got tickets for the next homestand but I'm honestly assuming that it won't be the same roster as it was last weekend when I went.

We went to what ended up being the first game and my 8 year old twins got Fischers autograph.  That was pretty sweet.

As it sits today we have the worst active roster in the Division.

When we get guys back we will be better but we will still not have the best roster.

And it's really not close. Pirates bring up Griffin cause he's the best guy. Made is the best guy. He's in AA.

Really could’ve just given Mitchell an AB against a lefty instead of pinch hitting the terrible Perkins when we’re already down 6 runs

Jones can be DFAd any time now.

Can say that about like half of our offensive players right now

Baseball may have a certain amount of randomness, but many times exactly what should happen given the personnel involved does happen.

Tonight is one of those games

We’d better hope Vaughn can be something like last year’s version because who knows when Yelich will be back (and what he’ll be like when he does come back) and Chourio alone isn’t going to turn this lineup around.

Did they ever check in?

I don't know how many times over the years that the Brewers were about to face an elite pitcher & an announcer---usually Bill Schroeder---talks about how you need to be aggressive early, you can't get to two strikes, this guy doesn't walk many, blah blah blah. And often it results in said elite pitcher being able to go into the 7th or deeper because of a very tidy pitch count. It's hard to do vs a guy like Skenes, but you absolutely have to figure out a way to lay off the splitter. Hard to do? Yep. But we did a poor job of even attempting it early in the game. The flip side is, he was given every borderline strike in the first 4 innings which makes it even tougher, so I guess it boils down to a 'one of those days' situation. Much better ABs vs Skubal yesterday from the neck up, from the 3rd inning on.

Considering the competition I thought Blacks' ABs looked pretty good for a 1st time in the lineup.

I know he was victimized by poor defense in his last frame but It looked to me like there were a lot of very, very comfortable ABs vs Drohan. He looks to me like someone who can't get away with so-so command & absolutely HAS to locate.
