6/9/2004: Brewers (Santos) @ Angels (Washburn)

Just tuned in (was helping relatives with computer problems), and it's great to see we're picking up where the AL teams left off in hitting Washburn. Rough year for him so far, but he's proving that with a good offense, poor numbers can still yield wins

OK, I can accept any offensive argument you want to give me for your man-crush on Ginter, but this is ridiculous. He goes in AS hard as anyone but not harder. Don't let your love for him cloud your objectivity.

That's what I meant. Sometimes my love for Ginter clouds my grammatical judgment http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .

Sorry, homer.

Hakunamatada, Bill.

Well, you can't blame Ned for wanting to rest his bullpen with a 5-run lead after, say, a 17-inning game. I'm sure Santos has a really short leash.

With a 5-run lead, why not? He had only thrown like 75 pitches so why not keep him out there until he forces Nedley to remove him?

That's what I'd do, anyway.

Good question, Ajay. The only answer I have to offer is that you usually only see the stat as "GIDP"... which obviously a K/CS isn't.

In any case, how many times is Santos gonna be bailed outta trouble? Houdini never had this good a night.

Two runs off fifteen baserunners (hits and walks) through five and two-thirds equals insanely great luck. I'm with the "stick with Santos until he breaks" crowd, because we should be able to come up with some better options next spring -- but break he will.

which is more demoralizing:

a) getting only 4 hits and no runs in 17 innings off the Brewers.

b) getting only 2 runs off 13+ hits and 2 walks in 6 innings off a Brewer?

Either way, the Angels aren't feeling that good right nowh

I wonder if someone in the Angels clubhouse broke a mirror or something yesterday, because their mojo is just not working.

It's the Karma Police. They signed Mondesi, thwarting all notions of good and common decency in favor of the dark side of the dollar sign, and now they're getting punished. Mondesi got hurt, and the Angels can't score any runs.

Beware the Nazi hair-do,

I agree about the Mondesi/Karma issue for sure Bill. Simply ridiculous. Hopefully our bad luck will stay in Anaheim with the Angels and we can go back to Milwaukee with a clean slate.

Keith Ginter taking away a basehit from Jose Guillen with a beautiful diving play?

This is like my own personal video game, kids. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Just read this on my CBS Fantasy Baseball website.

Gary Bennett, C MIL

News: Gary Bennett (thumb) was back in the starting lineup on Wednesday at Anaheim.

Analysis: Bennett is a solid No. 2 Fantasy catcher in larger NL-only leagues.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif

I assume they mean NL only league with 40+ owners. Well, I guess I am just happy that this lineup tonight is getting the job done.

LOL. Speaking of fantasy stupidity, rotoworld just pointed out that Kieschnick will likely be back tomorrow and might DH this weekend.

Um, we play the Astros.

Brady Clark is the man, tonight. Woohoo.

Wow. I just about went face down on the keyboard. 2 hours of sleep in the last 40 hours is not cutting it. This game is ours. I gotta sleep!

Go Brewers! We scored runs!
