I was checking it out a bit and it seems massively cheap to live there.

Like whizkid, I too was over there in the Navy in the early '70's(GO SAN MIGUEL BEER!!)

And the social entertainers!

 

Manila is the only city that is living in another century as far as comparing to life in the U.S. Everything else is, well, not even close back; then at least

Been to Manila twice, and to Cebu once.

How was Cebu? I was looking at some rental listings and you can rent a brand freaking new 3 bed 3 bath palace for 1000 bucks a month.

Went to Cebu on a business trip 3 years ago and was there for 8 days. The city was ok nothing special, yeah many things are cheaper over there and I did a little shopping. The Shrangri-La resort I stayed in had a really nice beach and spa, I had a good massage and a nice tan. Overall, it was a nice relaxing trip.
