Jose Offerman charged after brawl

Jose Awfulman, which BoSox fans once called him, has been charged with battery after hitting a pitcher and catcher with a bat during a melee at an independent league game. How low can a once-promising all-star go these days? He apparently sent the catcher and pitcher to the hospital with a concussion and broken finger respectively.

I wonder if youtube will have this up and running soon?

not with a deadly weapon, he will get off with a misdemeanor. $10,000 bond is not fitting of an assualt with a deadly weapon charge or a felony assault charge.

This makes the Izzy Alcantara incident seem mild. I wonder what could have made Offerman snap and do something so stupid...he wasn't even hit near the head.

Latest news indicates that Offerman has been suspended indefinitely for his tirade by the Atlantic League and is due back in court Aug. 23.
