iPod video question

Just got a new 30 gb video iPod. I wanna put some movies or at least shorter videos on it. What format do those things have to come in? Anyway to work around iTunes for those?

you have to get a program that converts your video formats (probaby mpeg or avi) to apple's format.

.mp4 is the format you want to convert to. Videora works. There are other very good programs which will convert DVDs to .mp4 as well.
